PREFACE Our inspiration for doing this project was because we wanted to offer people a brand new perspective on the US state of California. Additionally, this project will help people gain more knowledge about some aspects of California, for instance, its culture, education, people, beautiful scenery, etc... To do that, we've got consulted plenty of knowledge from the net through websites, online books, blogs, magazines,... That way, the project will become more authentic and more reliable. Although it takes plenty of your time for research work , it's more productive. Above all, hope that everybody will have a pleasant time with many new experiences. This project will go into the study more clearly through 5 main parts: -Location -Tourist places -Culture of California -Education -People in California

II. TOURIST PLACES Yosemite Falls is a waterfall in Yosemite Valley, it is also one of the world's tallest waterfalls, falling 4,425 feet. Lower Yosemite Falls, the Middle Cascades, and Upper Yosemite Falls are the three waterfalls that comprise Yosemite Falls ,from various viewpoints you can see the mist of the waterfall. If you come here at these times it will be the perfect time for you to see them : Peak flow in March, steady flow from March to June, dry from August to October . The next destination is Sturtevant Falls. Sturtevant Falls is located in the foothills of the Angeles National Forest and it is one of the more attractive waterfalls in the Southern California area.. Due to moss and algae growing on the cliffs that make the colors to this 50ft waterfall when the water flows look mysterious and special. Finally, the destination is Santa Cruz, which is known as one of America's surf hotspots. With a population of the city of roughly 50,000 people, but its stunning beaches and sense of adventure feel drawn visitors from all over the world. It will be a trial for your brave.

III. CULTURE OF CALIFORNIA California is a culturally diverse place. In most California cities, two or more ethnic groups coexist peacefully. Despite the various legal and political challenges surrounding immigration into California, the state has always benefited by admitting people of many cultures and colors. This phenomenon is not confined to major cities. That culture is brimming with variety, activity, creative energy, and delight in the taste of life - passions, trends, and cuisine. What makes a Californian culture unique? 1.Freedom and ease California enjoys the grandeur of the landscape and the ocean breeze in its daily existence. The sensation of freedom and comfort is felt here, whether on the beaches, in small pubs, in regions far from gorgeous nature,... That is why California become the third-largest state in the United States is well-known for its creative industries . Because they can express their ideals, their emotion and have no compulsory in all of aspects. 2.Abundance of flavours California California mixes American, Mexican, Mediterranean, and Asian cuisine. It is a gourmet's heaven, with a vast range of flavors and ways to taste. What many people don't realize is that there are also excellent local wines California is the world's fourth-largest producer of this alcoholic beverage. 3.Artistic atmosphere Los Angeles has acquired the moniker "World Mural Capital.".California's culture also manifests in street art, murals, vibrant contemporary art centers, and galleries of various disciplines.

IV. EDUCATION California is oriented toward tax-supported public education. Four-year state colleges and the University of California system complete the public higher-education structure. The California State University, with numerous branches-including Fresno State University; San Francisco State University; California State University, Fullerton; and California State University, Long Beach-also draws from among the top one-third of high school graduates. California also has many prestigious private higher-educational institutions, among them Stanford University in Palo Alto, the University of Southern California in Los Angeles, Mills College in Oakland, the Claremont Colleges, California Institute of Technology in Pasadena, and California Institute of the Arts in Valencia. The two-year junior or community college was introduced in California in 1907, and there are now more than 100 colleges. More than one-tenth of California schoolchildren and a slightly higher percentage of college-age students attend private schools. The campuses at Santa Cruz and San Diego were established on variations of the Oxford University system of numerous small independent colleges sharing limited central facilities or services. The University Extension system operates throughout the state.

V. PEOPLE California’s first settlers were mostly Midwestern farmers of European descent. California’s Supreme Court overturned a ban on same-sex marriage in May 2008, though opponents vowed to battle the ruling with a constitutional amendment. Latinos as a whole make up more than one-third of the state’s population, and some areas are primarily Spanish-speaking. The Jewish community makes up about 3 percent of the state’s population. By 1880 only about 15,000 California Indians remained, a reduction of about nine-tenths of their pre-Columbian population. In early 1942 almost all of California’s Japanese Americans, both Nisei and Issei, were moved to isolated internment camps east of the Sierra Nevada, and they were held under guard until 1945. Los Angeles and other California cities also have significant gay and lesbian populations that are politically and culturally active. In the early 21st century, the African American population accounted for about one-fifteenth of California’s population. By the early 21st century, California had the largest Native American population in the United States, the vast majority of which resided in urban areas.
