4. Italian language courses

Luiss University offers Italian language courses free of charge to Erasmus and exchange students in both semesters. The courses consist of three hours per week in each semester. The students that meet the attendance and participation requirements will receive a certificate worth 3 ECTS credits. Students can register for the course directly with the professor in charge: Prof. Concetta Amato ([email protected]). To obtain the course certificate (with a grade and the ECTS credits) students must attend at least 75% of the classes. Further information will be given during the first day of class by Prof. Concetta Amato. In ogni semestre sarà offerto gratuitamente un corso di lingua italiana agli studenti ospiti. I corsi avranno una durata di tre ore di lezione a settimana e permetteranno di ottenere 3 crediti ECTS a semestre. La registrazione al corso si dovrà effettuare direttamente con la responsabile: prof.ssa Concetta Amato ([email protected]). Per ottenere l’attestato e i crediti, gli studenti dovranno svolgere il lavoro richiesto e avere una frequenza alle lezioni non inferiore al 75% del monte ore complessivo. 5. Digital Learning

Resource Center on the Luiss Webpage (link) Web Self-Service: Your personal page Web Self-Service is a fundamental tool for finding information, monitoring your university career and administrative status, booking exams, checking your exam list, designing your study plan and accessing self-certification forms. Luiss Learn Luiss Learn is the e-learning platform that will be with you throughout your university career. It is where you will find all your course materials, links to the virtual classrooms, and the ability to reserve laboratories and activities. It is also how you can get in contact with your tutor. Once the main page is open, sign in by clicking on the “Students Keyless and Luiss accounts Login” link in the upper right-hand corner and then on “Riconoscimento facciale per studenti”. You must have previously activated your Luiss email account and configured Keyless (instructions above). Once in the platform, you can click on the “My Home” button at the top to see all the courses that you’re enrolled in. Clicking on “Course/Courses” will open a list of all the sections where you can find, for example, precourses, Academic Gym activities, Luiss Loft courses or the digital skills section. Clicking on “Aule/Rooms” button at the top, will take you to a list of classrooms that you can connect to for online lessons. For more information and support on the use of the platform, please contact [email protected] Create a Keyless account To access the Luiss Learn e-learning platform or WebEx Teams, used for online exams and some group activities, students must follow a facial recognition procedure with the Keyless app. To install the program, students must: • Download and install Keyless Authenticator, instructions here. • Connect Keyless to your Luiss Account by scanning the QR code on the registration page following access with Luiss credentials, video tutorial here. • Enable backup, instructions here. • Ensure authentication through Luiss Learn: click on Students Keyless and Luiss accounts Login in the upper right corner and then on Riconoscimento facciale per studenti.

Then, enter your Luiss credentials. Upon completion, you’ll receive a smartphone notification to complete the process, video tutorial here. For optimal performance, we recommend cell phone operating systems iOS 12.4.6 / Android 6 or higher. Students encountering any problems with Keyless may refer to our Troubleshooting, read our F.A.Q. or request support via live chat. •

Connect to classrooms You connect to all of our lessons online, including on-campus lessons and lessons held in virtual classrooms. Indications for where the lesson will be held, whether real or virtual, will be indicated on your timetable. The list of classroom links can be found on Luiss Learn, in the section “Collegamenti alle aule – Links to the rooms”. You can also reach the page through the dropdown menu “Aule/Rooms” which is always at the top of the page. To connect to an on-campus lesson, select “Connettiti alle lezioni in sede – Connect to the lessons on campus” and on the page that opens, choose the campus (Viale Romania, Via Parenzo etc.) followed by the classroom. At the Viale Romania and Viale Pola campuses, you will also first have to select the floor where the classroom is found. Remember that the first digit that follows the “A” in the classroom name is what identifies the floor. For example, the classroom AT01 is on the ground floor (T for “terra”- ground), classroom A301 is on the third floor and A403 is on the fourth floor. To connect to a virtual classroom (that is, lessons that are not transmitted from a physical classroom on campus), you can click on “Connettiti alle aule virtuali di lezione – Connect to virtual lesson rooms“ and search the classroom by its number. Accessing Luiss spaces and services Luiss study rooms will be available to students Monday through Friday, 8am to 8pm by reservation, which can be made by midnight of the previous day and only for the following 2 days. With the same tool, it is also possible to reserve access to certain other University offices and services. Reservations can be made at this link . In order to book a meeting with our office, please select Student Mobility - Incoming exchange students (general queries) – Online Consult the lesson timetable To consult the lesson timetable, you can go to this page where it is possible to search the schedule by degree program, teacher or course. To see the group for in-person lessons, you can click on “Visualizza Gruppo di Appartenenza” at the top of the aforementioned page and you will be taken to the dedicated section. Logging in with your University credentials, you will see a list of all the courses and the relative group.

Il Web Self Service: la tua pagina personale Web Self Service è lo strumento fondamentale per reperire informazioni, monitorare la carriera universitaria e la posizione amministrativa, prenotare gli esami, verificare il libretto online, progettare il piano di studio e accedere alle principali autocertificazioni. Luiss Learn Luiss Learn è la piattaforma di e-learning che vi accompagnerà durante l’intero percorso di studio. Troverete tutti i materiali didattici relativi ai vostri corsi, i link alle aule virtuali e la possibilità di prenotarvi a laboratori e attività. Inoltre, attraverso la piattaforma potrete entrare in contatto con i vostri tutor. Una volta aperta la pagina principale, per accedere basta cliccare in alto a destra sul link “Students Keyless and Luiss accounts Login” e successivamente su “Riconoscimento facciale per studenti”. Occorre aver prima attivato la propria e-mail Luiss e configurato Keyless seguendo le istruzioni sopra indicate. Una volta all’interno della piattaforma, potrete cliccare sul pulsante “My Home” in alto per visualizzare tutti i corsi a cui siete iscritti. Cliccando invece sul bottone “Course/Courses” aprirete la lista di tutte le sezioni, attraverso cui potrete ad esempio raggiungere le pagine dei precorsi, le attività di Academic Gym, i corsi del Luiss Loft o la sezione digital skills. Premendo sul bottone “Aule/Rooms” in alto, troverete la lista delle aule per potervi collegare alle lezioni trasmesse online. Se dovessi riscontrare problemi a trovare alcuni corsi sulla piattaforma, scrivi un’e-mail a [email protected] Creare l’account Keyless Per accedere alla piattaforma di e-learning Luiss Learn e alla piattaforma WebEx Teams, utilizzata per gli esami online e per alcune attività di gruppo, è necessario eseguire una procedura di autenticazione facciale con l’app Keyless. Per installarla, basta seguire questi semplici passaggi: 1. Scaricare ed installare l’app “Keyless Authenticator” come descritto nella seguente guida. 2. Connettere Keyless al proprio Account Luiss scannerizzando il QR Code disponibile nella pagina di registrazione, previa autenticazione con credenziali Luiss. (Video tutorial disponibile qui) 3. Abilitare la funzionalità di backup come descritto nella seguente guida. 4. Verificare il funzionamento dell'autenticazione da “Luiss learn”: Cliccare sul pulsante "Students Keyless and Luiss accounts Login” in alto a destra e successivamente su “Riconoscimento facciale per studenti”. Infine, inserire le proprie credenziali Luiss. Al termine riceverete una notifica sul vostro smartphone che vi abiliterà all’autenticazione. (Video tutorial disponibile qui).

Per un funzionamento ottimale, raccomandiamo l'uso di sistemi operativi iOS 12.4.6 e Android 6 o versioni successive sul cellulare. In caso di problemi con Keyless, potete far riferimento al nostro Troubleshooting e consultare le F.A.Q o contattare il supporto in live chat all'indirizzo https://support.keyless.io. Collegarsi alle aule di lezione Potete collegarvi online alle nostre lezioni “on campus” ed alle lezioni trasmesse nelle aule virtuali. L’indicazione del luogo (reale o virtuale) dove si terrà una lezione è riportata sul vostro orario. La lista dei link alle aule è reperibile su Luiss Learn, nella sezione “Collegamenti alle aule – Links to the rooms”. Potete raggiungerla anche attraverso il menù a tendina “Aule/Rooms” sempre presente sulla barra in alto. Per collegarvi ad una lezione “on campus”, potete selezionare la voce “Connettiti alle lezioni in sede – Connect to the lessons on campus”. Dentro la pagina che si aprirà, dovrete scegliere la sede (Viale Romania, Via Parenzo ecc.) e quindi cercare l’aula. Nella sede di Viale Romania e di Viale Pola, occorrerà prima selezionare il piano in cui si trova l’aula. Ricordate che la prima cifra che segue la “A” nel nome dell’aula ne identifica il piano. Ad esempio, l’aula AT01 è al piano terra, l’aula A301 è al terzo piano e la A403 al quarto piano. Per collegarvi ad un’aula virtuale (cioè le lezioni che non sono trasmesse da un’aula “on campus”), potete selezionare invece la voce “Connettiti alle aule virtuali di lezione – Connect to virtual lesson rooms“ e cercare l’aula attraverso il suo numero. Accesso agli spazi e ai servizi Luiss Le studentesse e gli studenti possono accedere alle aule studio Luiss dal lunedì al venerdì dalle 8 alle 20 effettuando la prenotazione entro le 24 del giorno precedente e soltanto per i 2 giorni successivi. Con lo stesso strumento, è possibile anche prenotarsi per accedere ad alcuni uffici e servizi dell'Ateneo. È possibile prenotarsi accendendo a questo link. Per prenotare un incontro con il nostro ufficio, selezionate Student Mobility - Incoming exchange students (general queries) – Online Consultare l’orario delle lezioni Per consultare l’orario delle lezioni, potete recarvi su questa pagina. Sarà possibile ricercare l’orario per corso di studio, per docente o per insegnamento. Per visualizzare il gruppo di riferimento delle lezioni in presenza, potrete cliccare sulla pagina sopra indicata ed entrare nell’apposita sezione “Visualizza Gruppo di Appartenenza”. Effettuando login con credenziali d’Ateneo, visualizzerete la lista di tutti gli insegnamenti con il relativo gruppo di frequenza.

6. Luiss App

Your badge is on your smartphone! Please download the Luiss app if you have not done so already. You will need it to access the campus premises by showing your virtual badge at the entrance and scanning the QR code generated by the app through the kiosks at the entry points. Additionally, with the app you can easily find all the important information about Luiss and all the services offered to local and Exchange students. What can you do with the Luiss app? - Badge: you can show your Luiss Card to access the university, to sit your exams and to benefit from discounts open to students. - Book meetings and spaces: - Explore: take a virtual tour of our campuses. - News and events: keep yourself updated by checking latest news and notices of Luiss university. - Academic info: check the timetable of all your lessons, the availability of studying rooms, the exams you have passed and the ones you still need to sit. - Library: you can easily handle the book you borrowed, search the books you are looking for and save the list of the books you are interested in. - Services: you can search and offer a ride with Luiss Carpooling and you can check the canteen menu. - Network: discover the Luiss ecosystem, Luiss TV, Luiss Radio, Luiss Store, etc. To download the app, type Luiss in the search bar in the Store of your Android or Apple smartphone! L’app Luiss consente di accedere in modo semplice ed intuitivo a tutte le informazioni fondamentali dell’università e ai sevizi personalizzati per gli studenti Luiss e per gli studenti di scambio.

Cosa puoi fare con l’applicazione? - Badge: per entrare nell’università, per sostenere gli esami, per usufruire di eventuali convenzioni e sconti potrai mostrare la tua Luiss Card integrata nell’app. - News, avvisi ed eventi: rimani aggiornato consultando le ultime notizie, avvisi ed eventi dell’ateneo - Didattica: consulta il calendario delle lezioni personalizzato, verifica la disponibilità di aule lezioni e studio, controlla gli esami superati e quelli ancora da superare. - Biblioteca: gestisci con facilità i libri che hai preso in prestito, ricerca un libro tra quelli disponibili in biblioteca e salva la lista dei libri che ritieni interessanti per una rapida consultazione. - Servizi: cerca ed offri passaggi con Luiss Carpooling, conosci il menu della mensa, etc. - Network: scopri l’ecosistema Luiss, la Luiss TV, Radio Luiss, Luiss Store, etc. Per scaricare l’app, digita Luiss nella barra di ricerca dello Store del tuo Smartphone Android o Apple! 7. Exams

For each course Luiss offers two or three examination dates (appelli). Exchange students can choose the dates they prefer for the subjects they registered for. When a course is held by more than one professor, students can register for the examination only with the professor they chose upon enrolment. The final exam consists of different possible examination procedures and registration of grades: - Oral exam: you will receive an e‐mail confirming the grade obtained that will appear on your webpage. - Written exam: you will have three days from the publication of the result to view it on your webpage and, if you so wish, decline the grade through your Web Self-Service. - Written final exam + oral exam: you will receive an e‐mail inviting you to check t...
