After her dad moved to a homeless shelter and Liz’s mom expired, she began living on the streets at just 15 yearsold.

"Homeless to Harvard" context clues practice Liz continued to attend high school. She slept at friend’s houses, on busses, and on the streets, but she was unwavering in her goal to graduate high school and attend college. Because of her diligence, Liz was able to graduate in two years. After graduation, Liz received a scholarship from the New York Times and was accepted into Harvard University. Liz’s story was made into a TV movie called Homeless to Harvard. Liz’s story shows that hindrances and obstacles cannot keep the hardest working individuals from achieving their dreams.
