Getting your Adobe Acrobat Reader DC (FREE) Some schools provide worksheet in PDF for your child to download and print.

What is PDF? PDF is a file format for sending or editing electronic documents. You need a software that enables you to open, read and edit the PDF document.

For computers that run on Windows Operating System.

Once completed, you should have a downloaded file as shown at the bottom of your screen. The name of the file is : readerdc_uk_xa_crd_install

If you cannot see the file, check your Download folder.

In your Download folder, double click on the file and follow the installation steps.

Typing out your answers or editing documents Choose the PDF document you wish to edit. An example of a PDF document:

Open up your PDF document. Click on “tools”

Next, click on “comments”.

You will see a comment bar.

Adding a text To add text, simply click on the textbox icon.

Click on Textbox

Left-click, hold and drag the textbox on the part of the document that you wish to add your text.

This is the textbox Type your text into the textbox.

Remember to save your PDF document.    

Removing text box To remove the textbox, click on the textbox and ensure the edges of the textbox looks like this (with circles at all four corners).

Go to your keyboard, press the DELETE button. The entire textbox is gone.

Highlighting important keywords For any exam questions, you might want to annotate the question or highlight important keywords. You can do that here.

Step 1: Select the highlighter function

Step 2: Select your desire colour

Finally, left-click, hold and drag on the text you wish to highlight.

Once done, your highlighted text will be shown.

Oops, you highlighted the wrong text. Fret not. Click on the text and ensure the edges of the highlighted part looks like this.

Go to your keyboard, press the DELETE button. The highlighter is gone. You don’t have to use any correction tape! HURRAY!

Please Read This As your child has more and more worksheets, it is important that your child knows how to tidy up the folders and arrange them neatly.

Just like arranging their worksheets in a folder, it is recommended to give a proper name to each worksheet. For quick comparison of your child’s work and the marked assignment, you may want to add a date to the name of the worksheet.

Let’s say you have an original worksheet on electricity. This is an original document (meaning it is not edited at all).

Copy the original document and paste into the same folder. To do that, click on the document you wish to copy and press Ctrl+C followed by Ctrl+V on your keyboard.

Note Ctrl+C commands your computer to copy the document Ctrl+V commands your computer to paste the document into the folder.

You will have something like this in the same folder:

The copied document is the one where your child will add in his or her answers. It is time to rename the copied document. Right-click on the document, you will see this:

Click “Rename”. Name the document with your child’s name such as “James 08 Apr” It is preferable to put the name and the date of completion of the worksheet by your child. That way, you can easily track your child’s homework without opening every single one of the documents. Once done, press the “ENTER” button and it will look like this.

Submit the completed document to the teacher for marking.

Few days later, your child’s teacher would have provided the marked document and feedback to your child. It is also recommended to add in the date where the feedback is given so you can compare your child’s work and the answers provided. For easy tracking it is recommended to save the document with “comment 11 Apr” as shown below.

You can immediately track all three documents in one folder without opening every single one of them.
