[Review] Martin Luther King Jr, “Letter from Birmingham Jail” The “Letter from Birmingham Jail” by Martin Luther King Jr, is an excerpt that tries to explain to the clergymen the non-violent protest he was having in Birmingham, and him getting arrested because of that is unjust. He goes into how the white man would agree with their protests but argue that it isn’t the right time. Martin Luther King Jr, argues that there is no right time to protest, and poses several African American experiences, and the segregation that they’ve been through. Due to how they have been treated it is justifiable that they should be impatient. He further criticizes the white people that see his protests as something related to extremists, despite being non-violent. He concludes in a positive note, hoping that the discrimination would soon go away, and everyone in America would band together. In relation to the course, we have seen a rise in the African American culture in modernity. People like Alain Locke started the Harlem Enlightenment, which gives power and pride to the black people. M. L. King Jr is also bringing a voice for the community, empowering the culture, and being proud of their colour by fighting for what’s right, abolishing the segregation between the white and coloured....
