Description

The Ahu I chose is the Ke Ahu ʻ o Kamakaʻ eha. This Ahu is dedicated to Queen Liliuokalani and can be found right outside the Queen Liliuokalani Center at University of Hawaii at Manoa. I chose this as the Ahu for this assignment because I almost pass by it everyday. Some days I pass by it twice. The Queen Liliuokalani Center at University of Hawaii at Manoa is a gathering place for students to find many resources. I think this was dedicated to Queen Liliuokalani because she was a provider to her people in her time. I think this place is meant to continue that for her in a way. The Queen Liliuokalani Center at University of Hawaii at Manoa helps students with many things like getting financial aid and advising help with their degrees. I also think that the actual Ahu being located on the same ground as the Queen Liliuokalani Center at University of Hawaii at Manoa also supports my guess that this center is meant to carry on what Queen Liliuokalani did in her time as queen....
