Introduction The chief information officer should never worry about whether the infrastructure in place can live to the competitive pressures. In case these are the worries, one should deploy the Infrastructure as a Service as a solution. With IaaS in place, it will reduce costs incurred, speed up time to market and offer virtually unlimited agility and scalability (Jamsa,2013). This model does all this by virtually ensuring uptime and the highest standards for compliance and security. There are five capabilities as asserted by Jamsa (2013). They are as follows; The conditioned power with potential of uninterrupted power supply in both short term and long term by use of onsite diesel-powered generators One major benefit that people experience when they shift to the IaaS model is reduction of infrastructure costs, The ever available power supply makes it possible for the operations to be efficient by removing the sections that are costly to the business. With cloud computing gaining momentum, the organizations do not have the responsibility of maintaining uptime, networking equipment and hardware or even old equipment replacement. Thus, IaaS saves the businesses from allocating time to handle some quick business spikes. The companies that have small size of IT infrastructure will obviously need a small staff to manage it as well. Because the model provides the pay as you system, it contributes a lot to cost savings. The IaaS model is metered and so businesses will only pay for the capacity in need (Jamsa,2013). This makes them avoid very big bills or fees for the advantages they will not be able to use. It demands no upfront charges, minimum term commitments and bandwidth utilization fees. Sufficient air conditioning to remove the heat that is generated by the disk storage devices and servers

One of the biggest advantages for the IaaS is its capability to scale down or up in quick response to the business requirements. This scaling up and down is brought about the cooling of the equipment used in the operations. The IaaS service providers offer latest servers, networking technology and storage to address the needs of the customer. The ondemand scalability offers the additional flexibility and the bigger agility in responding to requirements and opportunities. This is quite helpful for building and dismantling development and test environments that largely benefit from increased agility and speed. Access to high speed and redundant internet service At the moment, competition is very tough and the time taken to market products remains one of the best ways in beating competition (Jamsa,2013). Therefore, the IaaS offers the scalability and elasticity, companies can ramp up and have the job done in a quicker way. The administrative staffing in supporting the operating systems, networks and hardware All organizations have disaster recovery strategies and the technology that are used in generating those strategies are usually very expensive and unwieldy so to say. The IaaS offers a consolidated infrastructure for disaster recovery which increases manageability and cost reduction. In case of any disaster, the staff can access mails through the infrastructure Fire Suppression system The staff do not have to spend time coming up with possible risks like a fire breaking out because that will be easily detected. Energy, money and time spent to make the technology plans and recruitment of the necessary staff in maintaining and managing the technology infrastructure can now be spent carrying out business operations. They focus their

time and resources to where it matters most and coming up with real solutions to practical problems that face the business.
