Situation Famine. Natural disaster, such as a flood ruining a community’s crop so their is only limited food available. Drinking water is contaminated and dirty. Insomnia. A baby cries all night – the mother cannot sleep. Homelessness. A tsunami destroys houses and personal belongings. There is no money to buy children winter pyjamas. A parent beats a child. Burglars have broken in and destroyed the lock on the front door. The neighbourhood is too violent and police will not attend disputes. Children are forced to work in a factory and the government does not intervene. A family moves house regularly and they don’t pay the rent on time. A teen party gets gatecrashed and hundreds of people show up with weapons. Domestic violence is reported but the spouse gets out on bail. An individual is stranded in the city at night and has to walk home. A relationship breaks up. A child is bullied at school and has no friends. A child’s parents get divorced. A teenager finds out he or she is adopted because the mother didn’t want them. A foster child moves from house to house. A teen refuses to show affection to parents. Someone is isolated at work and does not integrate with co-workers. An elderly man lives alone with no family to visit him. An individual studies hard but fails final year exams. A family belongs to a minority culture and is looked down upon by the community. A child gets hurt while being babysat and the babysitter is really upset. A sports team loses every weekend. An extra-marital affair that friends know about. You miss out on a promotion you deserved. No one notices that a mother does everything for her family.
