Accessing the IHI Open School Courses for Basic Quality & Safety Certificate Please note: For C489 students, we recommend following your specific course of study (COS). As you move through the course you will be directed to complete specific IHI courses. Once the COS is complete, you will have completed the required IHI materials. If this certificate is not part of a specific COS, complete the certificate by following the IHI instructions. 1. Go to https://www.IHI.org/OnlineCourses. 2. Log into IHI. 3. From the menu bar in the middle of the page select “Browse Catalog”.

4.On the left side of the screen, click on "Open School", which leads to a dropdown selection. Select the "Open School Basic Certificate" option by the desired language.

5. You will "ENROLL" in all 13 required courses (TA 101, QI 101-105, PS 101-105, PFC 101, L101).

6. After enrolling in the 13 courses, navigate to Learning Center. Click on "Current" tab to "Launch" a course. Each course has 3-4 lessons and assessments. Follow the instructions in each course and complete the attestation to receive credit.

7. To review the status of complete courses, navigate to Learning Center and select the "Completed" tab. Next, follow these instructions for claiming credits for each individual courses.

Getting your Certificate of Completion You will download one final certificate after you have completed the 13 required courses for the IHI Open School Certification of Completion for the Basic Course in Quality and Safety. 1. Log into IHI (www.IHI.org) and follow these instructions for claiming credits for each individual courses. 2. After claiming credits for the individual courses, select “My IHI” in the top right corner.

3. This opens up the IHI Portal. Click on “Credits”

4. Scroll down to “Open School” & Click on “Open School Basic Certificate Program”

5. Certificate will populate. Click on the PDF download icon. A PDF version of the certificate will be available to download. Save a copy to your computer. You will upload a copy of the certificate as directed within the course.
