Description

[Introduction] A discourse community consists of people who have the same goal, interest, and level of expertise in a specific area of interest. We have been discussing about the characteristics of a discourse community and how we can decide if a person is part of that community. To be a member of the community, he/she should have a threshold level of expertise, credibility, and emotions that we share with other members in the community. On the other hand, the players in our team, including myself, try to protect the sportsmanship and positive attitudes. The scores and performance are the second criteria that our team cares. In addition, there is a high

possibility that those players will not likely feel the same emotions if they only care about winning. We enhance the feeling of unity and belonging via that fact that we are playing to have fun and score goals together regardless of the result. Thus, I assert that I am a qualified member of my soccer team who promote the same Pathos as other players....
