Key Principles and Procedures Research is designed to ensure integrity, quality, and transparency: -No misleading of interviewees -The reporting and analysis should reflect the data as accurately as possible. -Quotes should capture general trends Research staff and participants must be fully informed about purpose, methods, and intended possible uses of research, what their participation entails and what risks are involved. Informed consent requires the interviewee knows what the research is about. Confidentiality of information supplied by participants and anonymity must be respected. Writing up interview material  interview cannot be identified. Research participants must be voluntary, no coercion. Harm to research participants and researchers must be avoided: -Interviews are intrusive so studies with research questions involving themes which may cause distress are expected to have guidelines in place. -No children (under 18) can be interviewed due to consent issues. Ethical considerations: Alan Morris chpt.2 (ethical guidelines).
