Description

IOT Assignment 2

11642605

Introduction Cisco packet tracer is a robust simulation tool to visualize networks. With Packet Tracer we can choose to build a network from scratch, use a pre-built sample network, or complete classroom lab assignments. Packet Tracer allows you to easily explore how data traverses your network. Packet Tracer provides an easy way to design and build networks of varying sizes without expensive lab equipment. While this software is not a replacement for practicing on physical routers, switches, firewalls, and servers, it provides too many benefits to ignore! ("introduction to packet tracer", 2018). packet tracer is extensively used for networking and modelling internet of things(IoT). In this project, as an IT architect at ingenious IoT, I will be particularly focusing on two tasks. firstly, a demo IoT smart office will be setup using packet tracer. secondly, create a branch office for the main office and control smart devices at the main office using mobile device from the branch office. The main office contains many smart devices and networking components which are to be controlled from the branch office.

Figure: CISCO packet tracer logical workspace. As shown in figure packet tracers logical workspace has space where we can insert smart devices networking devices, connections which is used for modelling and simulating our project.
