Historic films are made from previous events that have happened and frequently Hollywood would try and influence the event, in order for it to embody the past and the response it gets through diverse types of societies. The movie Argo premiered in 2012 and is not excluded as trying to display a “Hollywoodized” affair of the Iranian Hostage Crisis which brought in mixed reactions and is debated on how the incident is depicted. The flick is repeatedly criticized for its legitimacy and precision of how the event is shown. Ben Affleck, the movie director, selected to insert “drama” and influence the real incident in order to acquire a broader audience. By the movie including an assortment of governments throughout the hostage crisis, the movie specifically spotlights only on the Canadian government and U.S. government. The picture centers on screening how commanding the C.I.A. and American government are. Although, the Canadian government depicted completed an insignificant part in the picture and other governments were not even referenced. The movie was condemned by the United States, Canada, British and New Zealand’s critics for the position each nation had in it as it proves the film as misleading in expressing the reality and correctness of the event. The United States had its part elevated, that it appeared to have finished most of the effort whereas Canada had its role minimalized. The movie seemed to have been prepared out to have a minor role that Canada had with United States, but other states like New Zealand were not even revealed. Thus, with the varied response the film brought, it helps the understanding of Iranian Hostage Crisis and how that affair better comprehends the responsibility of government, and is shown between the countries of U.S., British, New Zealand, and Canada. A feature that Ben Affleck used to illustrate the tightness amid the U.S and Iran is analysis or reasoning. They show a large role in this film. The hostage crisis was the utmost

theatrical scene in a string of complications opposite Americans at home and overseas in the concluding year of the Carter presidency. The core motive that the Iranians detained the American Embassy was because Shah went to America for healing, they believed that America is in a secret assignment to commandeer Iran. Whilst the Iranians invaded and apprehended the Americans from American Embassy, they swore not to discharge them until the U.S sent Shah. So, this was essentially the motive for Tony Mendez to emanate a strategy and salvage the six American diplomats. And very expertly Affleck elected "the plan" which was ultimately to make a false movie named, "Argo" to title his movie, and he also indicated the reason following the true incident to make this movie and let this generation distinguish more about history and the Iranian Revolution. Argo characterizes the past by its props and decisions of the production value that went into the flick. Ben Affleck picked to have sizable broadcasting cameras throughout interviews and in the introductory sequence of the movie which displays a protest stirring in Tehran. In the protest scene of the local residents attempting a breach into the United States Embassy had interweaves of a viewpoint of an individual in the mass of people. This provides a feel of validity as the viewing of the footage resembles that of a hand-held camera which stands out from the rest of the sequence. Inside the film event an audience member can visualize how Affleck handled the issue with intercuts as the pressure builds in Tehran and back in the U.S. trying to effectively pull off an operation in the government. Ben Affleck additionally used sentiment and devotion to indicate the tension between the U.S and Iran to bring to attention on how people could have felt during the Iran Hostage Crisis, particularly to the "six American diplomats" who were clever enough to get away from the embassy and took refuge at the Canadian Ambassadors household. They were disturbed at the

violence of the Iranians and vulnerable too at the same time up to the point Tony emerged to liberate them. In the film, one of the diplomats, Mary kept saying, "I'm scared" whilst they were nearly about to arrive at the bazar by simulating to film the "fake movie". Ben additionally used faith to give evidence to the overall population that Americans will do all to serve their nation and people, even if at the expense of their individual lives. For example, those like "Tony Mendez". He is a type of person that folks can lie their confidence in. Not only this but also, "faith" pieces the second largest role in this film, because if the six Americans did not have trust in the Canadian Ambassadors they would not have remained at his place. As for Tony since if they did not have sufficient belief in him, he perhaps would not have made it to completion by liberating them. The other stretch of "faith" in this picture could be how Iranians did not have loyalty to the U.S, that basically the United States had nothing to do with their nation. While then the Iranian Hostage Crisis was a massive event in the U.S. history, there ought to have had participation of other countries in the film. As we read in our textbook U.S Foreign Policy, specifically on pg. 468, together the British and New Zealand embassies had a part in the incident. Although minimal, it “gave them (Americans) help all the time” as indicated by Sir John Graham, who was the Iranian British ambassador during the occasion. Argo had an unimportant bit of discussion maintaining that falsely accused British and New Zealand embassies had turned the six American diplomats away. The reaction is that the countries did compromise a refuge and assisted the people when the mobs were vandalizing the city. It confirms the presence of falsification of governments in film as the parts of other international governments had a superior role paralleled to what the C.I.A and American government has presented to be fitting to the film. This expresses that director Ben Affleck made choices to

exhibit a partial role or not involve undeniable events in the film that other countries had and moved concerning a narrative that appears more tempting for an exclusive community. In conclusion it can be undoubtedly assumed that Ben Affleck, the director, pointed out the pressure between the U.S and Iran in 1979 quite shrewdly by using US foreign policy determinants, analysis, sentiment and devotion to communicate to the general people particularly, the kids of this generation about the past, to be dauntless and a risk taker. Even though he finished this picture to point out what transpired in the Iran Hostage Crisis, he largely chose to produce it in order teach people a moral lesson of not stepping back from any kind of struggles....
