Description

1 Unit 1: Assignment 1 1. Are you now, or have you ever been a Supervisor? What did you find the most rewarding aspect of the job? What did you find the least enjoyable aspect? (If you have never held a position of this nature, just give your opinion.) My current employer has allowed me to uphold a supervisory position throughout the camp sessions. Teaching the children about equine care, and creating positive impacts for first time horse interactions are the most rewarding parts of my job. The least enjoyable aspects of my job is attentively reminding fellow co-workers of their responsibilities throughout the day. It is difficult to balance the distinct line of sternness and crudeness when ensuring that all the necessary tasks for the campers, barn etc. are completed.

2. What are the four functions of Management? The four functions of management include, planning, organizing, controlling, directing. - The planning function allows any manager or supervisor to correctly allocate all the necessary resources needed for your team; additionally it creates a steady schedule which allows supervisors to ensure a team runs smoothly while working. - The organizational portion allows a leader to promote efficiency within their team. A good organized leader will organize their team around conflict, structure, and efficiency in the interest of their goals. - Directing a team relies on the organization and planning stages. Holding the position of leadership in any environment including supervision- management translates

Technological trends also reinvent internal trends within a workplace. On a macro scale the internal trends will take place first by slimming down the amount of supervisors and workers needed to efficiently run a corporation. However on a micro scale some business similar to my other employer Target Corporation, has already adjusted many of their stores to fit in the technological trends. Using apps, and convenient on demand ordering (also referred to as “drive up”) there has been a decreased amount of foot traffic in brick and mortar stores. Thus decreasing the amount of team members needed to maintain the physical store. For consumers these trends help them efficiently shop faster than before. Consequently, the need for supervisors and most of middle management is ceaseing to exist. The response will be essentially the end for the need of middle management, when lower and upper management can carry out the responsibilities once bestowed on the middle management....
