Katie Hopkin’s Presentation: Slide 1: Hello everyone, I’m Amar and I’m here today to talk to you about Katie Hopkins and I guess most of you know who she is and what she is known for. Slide 2: Katie Hopkins is an English media personality, columnist, and former businesswoman. following further appearances in the media, she became a columnist for British national newspapers. Throughout her career, Hopkins' social media presence and outspoken views, specifically regarding UK politics, social class, obesity, migrants and race, have attracted a lot controversy and criticism. She has been accused of racism by journalists, advocacy groups and politicians for her comments about migrants. All her views show hate towards diversity and people from different cultures and religions.

Slide 4: the article I chose published in December last year, said that US authorities were right to stop Mahmood family from travelling to Los Angeles for a trip to Disneyland. Hopkins also suggested that the two brothers were extremists with links to al-Qaida. Hopkins’ article suggested that the reason the family gave for visiting the US was a lie, and that she would have stopped them from boarding the flight from Gatwick. Her next column a week later also falsely suggested that Mohammed Tariq Mahmood’s son Hamza was responsible for a Facebook page that allegedly contained extremist material. In a correction published at midnight on Sunday, Mail Online said: “We and Katie Hopkins apologise to the Mahmood family for the distress and embarrassment caused and have agreed to pay them substantial damages and their legal costs.”
