Description

The story was about a aboriginal’s family that was made up of father, mother and seven brothers. The story was told by the third-oldest daughter. Her father worked for the Government and for his work he received a small wage and rations to feed his seven children. However, they never depended on this rations to survive. For this reason, the father taught them how to catch own food Aboriginal-style. The most important rule was "not killing for the sake of killing". One day, the five older brothers went hunting. The older brother was the best shooter of all of them. The boys ordered their sisters that to were quiet. The older brother fired but suddenly the birds flew away. He had been so close to his victim but he had lost it. Then, they roared with laughter. However, the more they laughed, the angrier her older brother became. Suddenly, in a tree a kookaburra began to laugh and he shot it. They looked horrified and scared because they had broken the rule. When her father arrived, he saw to kookaburra injured in the floor and he killed the bird. Then he ordered them home. After that eating, the father punished them. The punishment was that for three months they shouldn’t hunt or use them weapons. For three months they would eat only the white man's rations. Finally, for three months they were hungry and could not hunt. In my opinion, the brothers will never forget the lesson.

Condicional 3 If the brother hadn't killed the kookaburra, they wouldn't have had hungry. He would have followed the rule if he had knew the punishment. Condicional 2 If white man gave them food, they wouldn't catch the animals. If the brothers not laughed, the older brother wouldn't angry....
