Knapp’s Relational Development Model Assignment My relationship: Joey (ex boyfriend) Initiation: In this stage, we both made positive impressions. We talked about our lives and gave basic information. We also talked about what we wanted in a relationship and got to know eachother. Experimentation: For this stage, we hung out at each other’s houses. We tried to explore common interests, but our personalities are very different. We experimented with spending time with each other. Intensifying: We shared private information after talking and experimenting for a while. We discussed deepening the relationship and there was some gift giving involved. We talked about intimacy and what we both wanted in the relationship. Integration: We both spent more time together. We developed more of a sexual relationship and saw each other more. We also included time to meet each others families. We shared some more secrets as well. Bonding: We have reached this stage. We formalized our relationship by calling each other boyfriends. We dedicate time towards one another. Coming Apart: We reached this stage after a year of talking and a few months of dating. Our relationship is in the differentiating stage right now, as we are pulling apart and we want different things, due to the age difference and times we are at in life....
