Lab 5 – Editing Images Deadline: Wednesday, October 12, 5:00 pm Purpose: This week in lab you will explore enhancing photos using an online image editor Pixlr.
Manipulating Photos To use Pixlr, either:
1. Download the images attached to Lab 5 Assignment in ReggieNet. 2. Go to the Pixlr web site here.
3. Select Web Apps.
4. Click on LAUNCH WEB APP button for Pixlr Editor.

5. Select Browse and select Lighthouse.jpg.
You will explore some of the features of Pixlr to edit photos. Below are the Tools available under Adjustment option:
A. Editing a photo a. Edit the Lighthouse photo using 2 of the following tools under Adjustment: i. Heal 2
ii. Doodle iii. Brighten iv. Splash v. Liquify vi. Focal b. Select one of the tools under Type to add text to your image.
c. Enter your full name in the text box circled red below.
d. Your name will be inserted in the image. Select a different color that would make it stand out in the picture. Select a different color by clicking the color box. Resize the text and move it to the upper right hand corner of the image.

e. Save the image. B. Edit a second photo – Desert.jpg or Penguins.jpg using 2 other different tools (different from what you used in section A) and repeat steps 1 – 5. C. Describe what tools were used in both photos and what changes were made. Lighthouse: Outlined the lighthouse in black with Doodle; Used Splash to keep the sky blue but make the rest black and white
Penguin: Used Heal to blur out the middle penguins stomach; Used Liquify to change the chest size of the penquins
Submission: Submit both photos that you have edited and this updated document to ReggieNet under Lab 5.
