Description

Katerina Sanchez Lab Assignment 3

In both the resume and cover letter, I had very minimal feedback given through the people in my group. It was interesting to see everyone’s different point of views with the resume and the cover letter and I learned that most of the changes I needed to make would end up being done on my cover letter. My team was made up of Elijah Butts, Bradley Hurlston, Duncan Lopatine, and I, Katerina Sanchez. Resume: On my resume, the only thing I had to fix for my first draft was to make sure the line spacing on my dates was the same. This was an easy change for me, since I was able to just put my dates in line with one another. This already made my resume look a little bit better. As this was my only comment made, I just made sure to review my resume looking for any spelling errors or other misalignments. After that, I was able to submit it. Feedback: The feedback I got from my peers was a little helpful and was mostly positive. There were no major changes to make to my resume making my review a lot quicker to look over. The quality of the feedback was informative to making sure my resume looked aligned. There were no other changes to make according to my peers. Cover Letter: Regarding my cover letter, I had a bigger fix to make. From my peers I got no feedback on it, but from the TA I had one. She said that I should list some of my skills from my resume and add it to my cover letter. This was a very helpful comment as I realized that it wasn’t included and it should be known to the person reading it. She said to add specific skills to show the value I may bring to the company.

Feedback: This feedback was very helpful and I went back to my cover letter to add just a simple sentence or two to add my skills. This is a very helpful tip for people who just read your cover letter rather than go straight to your resume. It is letting people know some of my skills immediately. The feedback I got from my peers said my cover letter was great other than that. Conclusion: I believe the quality of my cover letter and resume changed for the better from my draft to the final submission. I tried to give everyone in my group helpful feedback, and even though all of theirs’ were good, I made sure to give at least one comment back to them. Hopefully, I was able to help everyone in my group and made their final products just a little better. I believe every member of my group took the time to thoroughly read through each other’s resumes and cover letters and give accurate feedback to one another....
