Standard Curve Data Use the provided spreadsheet to insert your data and create a standard curve with your assigned dye. NOTE: we don't seem to be able to create a trendline with excel in a browser or within lab archives. You will need to download the file below to your computer once the data is entered, insert the trendline, and then re-upload it to your notebook. You are also welcome to copy and paste into google docs. Keep all of your data! You will need to have your data (a table to summarize your dilutions, including concentrations and absorbance values) in this section for easy reference and grading. You may work directly in the excel file and then copy and paste a table here, or work here and then enter the data into the excel file to graph. You should also complete a table containing information for all of 4 the dyes in the later section. Jenine Maeyer ([email protected]) - Sep 21, 2020, 8:42 AM EDT

Candy Dye Data Each student should analyze their own M&M candy or other sample. Remove the dye from at least one M&M candy and determine the identity and quantity of the dyes coloring the candies. You will need to include at least 2 candy samples (2 colors of M&Ms, 1 M&M and one other sample, 2 other samples). One table has been provided, but there may be additional information you will need to obtain to accurately determine the amount of each dye.
Table #. (Insert Heading) Candy Description Wavelength (nm) Identity of Dye Absorbance Concentration (M) Mass of Dye (g) Mass % Dye in Candy
