Learning Journal Unit 5 Part 1: Formulating Organizational and Personal Strategy with the Strategy Diamond. Every organization has strategies. Organizational and personal strategy can be formulated using strategy diamond which includes Arenas, Differentiators, vehicles, staging, and economic logic. The following is the process I have used to perform my organizational and personal strategy. Arenas: What do I want to do? I want to start a courier company in Tanzania Differentiators: This will be the first courier in Tanzania to perform door to door delivery The company will not only deliver business packages as the present companies are doing, but also personal parcels The company will deliver parcels at an affordable price The safety of the packages will be assured by proper packaging and handling Vehicles: How I will get there:   

Separate parcels based on content, such as explosive and glassed materials need to be shipped separately Give option to customers to request parcel pickup from their homes or offices Get into partnership with international shipping companies

Staging: 

For the first two years, the business will be dedicated in Dar es Salaam only, and then we will start expanding to national level, opening offices in two cities every year

Economic Logic:   

Price will be based on weight and size of the parcel Low price will help the company get more customers hence opening multiple sources of income The price will also be based on shipping speed. This will give different options based on the levels of their economy

Personal goals: I want to start a courier company in Tanzania that will perform door-to-door delivery for both business and personal packages at an affordable price. People will be charged based on weight, size, and shipping speed. The company will save people’s time and money by establishing multiple offices and door pickup. This will open room for the expansion of online marketing in Tanzania.

Part 2: Peer assessment When giving feedback to a person physically, it is easy to find the best approach because you can easily determine someone’s mood at that time. However, when it comes to online responses, it is easy to hurt someone unintentionally. Personally, the feedback I received in the past week in my assignment was very helpful; the assignment was about stakeholders, their interests, and expectations. My response was general about a multinational food company. I explained my points very well, but I was not specific on what company I was talking about. One of the respondents first appreciated the hard work I did then advised me to be specific instead of being very general. He also gave me the extra point I had not thought of; that was very helpful. I feel that my feedbacks are constructive because I don’t only focus on the mistakes or weaknesses, but I give credit first on the good work done by my fellow student because I know how much it takes to contemplate on the question until you come up with an answer; I then follow it with some advice on areas where I think there is a need for improvement; If I was to receive the same feedback, it would have helped me improve my work. To improve the feedback I give this week, I will be more open-minded not to look at the response only from my perspective, but also based on the respondent’s perspective....
