Summary

Learning Journal Unit 1...

Description

Your learning journal entry must be a reflective statement that considers the following questions: 

Describe what you did. This does not mean that you copy and paste from what you have posted or the assignments you have prepared. You need to describe what you did and how you did it.

I start my first week on Thursday by reading the learning guide unit 1. I started my deep study on Friday by watching the videos (3 videos on reading assignment), next day I read Chapter 1 and take a look at the Discussion forum assignment and programming assignments. On Sunday I read chapter 2 then I try to download Eclipse IDE for Java Developers. On Monday I searched to write the discussion post and prepare the draft post. Next, I installed the IDE for java and followed the instructions on the file assignment, and solve the assignment. On Tuesday I posted the discussion forum and reply to the peers.

Describe your reactions to what you did.

I think I gave good assignments because I wrote every point has been asked and I gave respectful and objective replies to my peers on their discussion post, I feel the assignments were easy this week because it is the first week.

Describe any feedback you received or any specific interactions you had. Discuss how they were helpful.

Unfortunately, I post my discussion assignment late so I did not receive any replies but I saw the other students replies so I found their feedbacks very helpful because it shows a deep understanding and supportive In another word, they gave an explanation for syntax and semantic that corrected for some students and compliment for other peers.

Describe your feelings and attitudes.

I feel very optimistic to complete this course with helpful peers and a cooperative instructor.

Describe what you learned.

I learned the difference between syntax and semantic programming errors. I downloaded and installed the IDE java program. I established my new project on JAVA and wrote my first code.

Another set of questions to consider in your learning journal statement include: 

What surprised me or caused me to wonder?

I joined this term with expectations that java is a hard programming language and I would not be able to understand it easily but I found it easy, maybe it is just the beginning so I will see next week what will happen.

What happened that felt particularly challenging? Why was it challenging to me?

I found a little hard with the syntax of java because it is a very sensitive language but I exceeded it and write the complete assignment.

What skills and knowledge do I recognize that I am gaining?

I learned the basic of the java language, and how I will be a direct learner with critical thinking.

What am I realizing about myself as a learner?

I can learn from different sources like videos, books, peers, and researching.

In what ways am I able to apply the ideas and concepts gained to my own experience?

It is the first step to make my own program by using programming language, we are just learning the alphabet of programming language.

Finally, describe one important thing that you are thinking about in relation to the activity. I believe that I need a lot of training to gain a good knowledge of the Java language and I hope to achieve that in this course by making all assignments and share posts on the discussion forum....
