Discuss the Historical background of the document

Emilio Aguinaldo was born on March 22, 1869 in Kawit, Cavite (Cavite el Viejo), the second youngest of eight children of Carlos Aguinaldo and Trinidad Famy. The Aguinaldo’s were a wealthy and influential family with Carlos being gobernadorcillo for several terms. Following his father’s death in 1883, Emilio assisted his mother in the family business and worked to help earn the family income. Aguinaldo followed in his father’s footsteps and was chosen capitan municipal of Kawit in 1894. Months later, he joined the Katipunan choosing the name Magdalo, a name that was also given to another branch of the Katipunan (the other was Magdiwang) which he set up in his province. The declaration of Philippine Independence was written and was read by Ambrosio Rianzares Bautista in Spanish and translated by Sulpicio Guevara. It was written to use for the declaration of the freedon of the Philippines after the war against American and Spain. The declaration was signed by 98 people and at the end of it, emphasizing an American present in there with no official role. It is said that there are American Army officer who witnessed. The main reason for having the declaration is to symbolize the Philippines has the right to be independent and free from the Spaniards at the same time, lead the foreign countries to recognize the independence of the country. Mabini, who had by now been made Aguinaldo’s unofficial adviser, objected the based his objection on the fact it was more important to recognize the government

in such a manner as to convince the foreign powers of the competence and stability of the new government that proclaim Philippine Independence at such an early period.  On June12, between four and five in a the afternoon, Aguinaldo’s in the presence of the huge crowd Proclaimed the Independence of the Philippines at Cavite El Viejo ( Kawit). For the first time, the Philippine National Flag, made in Hongkong by Mrs. Marcela Agoncillo assisted by Lorenza Agoncillo and Delfinna Herboza was officially hoisted and the Philippine National played on public.  The act of declaration independence was prepared by Ambrocio Rianzares Bautista who also read it. A passage in the declaration reminds one of another passage in the American declaration of Independence. The proclamation of Philippine Independence was however, promulgated on August 1 when many towns has already been organized under the rules laid down by the Dictatorial government.  The documents are the tangible proof of the blood, sweat and tears that our beloved country men fought for the freedom that been denied from Filipinos for centuries and would’ve been more if it weren’t for the fiery rage of heroes towards to colonizers who raped the country against it will. The document namely; the act of proclamation of independence of the Filipino gave a significant turn towards the ideal government and nation that its sons could not only die for but also live for. If only that today’s Filipinos could take a moment to appreciate what they’ve been taking for granted years they’ve been living free from that what our predecessors experienced as to understand the grand narrative that our nation history has.  For me, doing the assigned reading is felt me full of emotions and grace yet exudes aggressiveness and confidence. After reading the act of proclamation of independence of the Filipino I realized that it played a massive role in shaping Philippine from a former colony, to a sovereign nation. I learned that the document shows how unsatisfied are the masses to unjust and tyrannical rule of Spain in the Philippines. It also contains a brief history of hardship of the Philippines under the Spaniards and

using it as justification for cutting or ceasing their allegiance to the Spanish crown. Lastly this I learned that this document introduced a provided a brief background of National Flag. USING/APPLYING KNOWLEDGE (application/integration) Write a poem about the importance of independence or freedom of a country and submit. Oh! Freedom Where Have You Gone? Is the freedom of mine? Is the freedom of yours?

It seems Freedom was very short In fact history tries hard to really abort Oh Freedom Oh Freedom When will we ever see the kingdom? The past struggles continues in the present Our own Leader is gone, but who will continue to represent? God’s eyes have always been our guide It is truly him we should abide It seems races have separated according to a bunch But it is true thinking with planning in the hutch Is it a thought or just understanding mine? Oh Freedom Oh Freedom I weep in my sleep The idea of not feeling the Freedom cuts ever so deep The only thing I own is Freedom in my mind to keep Freedom still being a fight We can’t tire, but continue in numbers being might Dr. Martin Luther King had the plan all along Freedom is definitely where we all belong Circumstance must change into equality Respect must change into honor

Pride into dignity Freedom being reality I was not meant to be a slave I have a place, and don’t need to behave Respect is what I deserve

Dignity in looking ahead, and not down No chains will ever keep me bound I will never be silent and will always echo a sound Oh Freedom when will I truly be free I am keeping my eyes on thee He is truly the key I am a proud individual I achieved where others said I couldn’t I established where others said I wouldn’t Equality is what we need Only when Freedom is added and only then we can proceed This is not a personal creed that was just made up It’s not some silver spoon that came with a diamond cup Who says Freedom is only for the chosen? This is a nation and all are candidates for prosperity Where there is a civil right, there is a pen and paper to write Sign Freedom on the dotted line Remember our Civil Rights is what is combined Stand up my Brothers and Sisters Raise your arms and hands up high No needing to ask the question of why We all stand together for Freedom and that includes me.

Relevance to the history of the country

The declaration of Independence is an important part of American democracy because first it contains the ideals or goals of our nation. Second it contains the complaints of the colonist against the British King. Third, it contains the arguments the colonist used to explain why they wanted to be free of British rule.

People have certain Inalienable rights including life, liberty and Pursuits of happiness.  All men are created equal  Individuals have a civic duty to defend these rights for themselves and others. The declaration gives us all the impression on how the victorious revolutionary government of Aguinaldo historicized the struggle for independence. ...
