4 Rules of prioritization

1. Acute beats chronic! Ex: if you have COPD, appendicitis and CHF, which is highest priority?! If using ABC’s COPD would be correct answer! Answer = appendicitis due to being acute! 2. Fresh post-op beats medical or other surgical! First 12 hours always wins!! 3. Unstable beats stable! 4. The more vital the organ the higher the priority! Used as a tie breaker! Not the organ of the diagnosis!

Experiencing unexpected signs and symptoms for their dz! Hemorrhage ! High fever over 105! Hypoglycemia ! Pulseness or breathlessness...
