Maximal flow, shortest route, minimum spanning tree, Integer Programming (IP); and travelling salesman problems. Case studies, model formulations and applications using software. Topics: 1. Introduction to formulation and classification of optimization models 2. Formulation and structure of linear programming models 3. Algorithms for solving linear programs (Graphical and Algebraic) 4. Duality and sensitivity analysis in linear programs 5. Formulating and solving network flow models 6. Formulation of integer programming models 7. Algorithms for solving integer programs (Graphical Branch and Bound) 8. Multi-criteria decision making (Analytical Hierarchy Process and Goal Programming) (If time allows) Computer Usage: 1. Formulation and solution of modest linear and integer linear program models using available commercial software (LINDO, WinQSB, LP Solve) 2.
