1. Is the Sacrament of Baptism really necessary for salvation? Why/why not? No, baptism is not necessary for salvation. Baptism is just symbolic of the spiritual cleansing. Communion is an act of fellowship with other believers to remember the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. In spite of this, both have been heavily ritualized over the course of history by the Church. The only real thing that is necessary for salvation is our cooperation with the Holy Spirit, not forgetting the atoning work of Jesus on the cross, which is the only absolute necessity. 2. Why there is still a need for the sacrament of confirmation? How important it is in the life of every Christian? Confirmation corresponds to growth. It is to gain the grace that is always there if we acknowledge it. When we are baptized, we are a child of God, but when we are confirmed, we are a Soldier of Christ to help bring about the Kingdom of Heaven by time, talent and treasure. Confirmation completes baptismal grace, and “by the sacrament of Confirmation, [the baptized] are more perfectly bound to the church and are enriched with a special strength of the Holy Spirit. Hence we are, as true witnesses of Christ, more strictly obliged to spread and defend the faith by word and deed.” (Lumen Gentium 11). 3. Do you think Christ is present in the Eucharist? Do you think his presence means a lot to every faithful in this celebration? (20 pts) Yes, scripture says he is the bread. Jesus says his body is real food and his be good real drink. And Jesus goes in to say that unless we eat of his body and drink of his blood we cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven. He never said that the bread and wine represented him or symbolized him, he said it is him. Yes, in the Catholic and Orthodox Churches the transubstantiation of the bread and wine alter the very essence of the bread and wine into the body, blood, soul, and divinity of Christ. He settles at the center of the people celebrating the Eucharist. The spirit of God enlivens and helps the Catholic family and other people to participate in the celebration. 4. If the original sin is already removed during baptism, why there is still a need for the sacrament of penance/reconciliation? First and foremost, it is important because it a Sacrament. Sacraments are substantial ways that we connect with God. They give us a sight of the Kingdom of God in a way that we can understand at least. If we did not have the Sacraments, we would not get a glimpse of Heaven until our death. Reconciliation is important because it repairs our relationship with God once we have damaged it by our own sins. When we

repent of our sins in confession, we return to being fully in communion with Jesus, through His grace and mercy....
