Description

● Explain what you specifically learned this semester and why that topic stood out to you. ○ I think what I learned the most from this semester is just how much drugs can really take a toll on your life and even the lives around you. I guess I didnt realize just how much you can become addicted to things and how it can almost hold you hostage in a way. I think the topic that stood out to me was tobacco. This is because it was interesting to see how much the USA has actually stopped with tobacco and how a lot of other countries are not even close. I think that is, because how we have put a lot more education about tobacco in our society which makes me happy hopefully it will continue to decrease as well. ● From what you learned, how can you apply it in your future profession and personal life? ○ I think what I learned from this semester is how to be in someones shoes in a way. Throughout the learning of addictions of different types of drugs I can understand how difficult it is for a person. I feel like without this education if I were to help someone I would be very annoyed that it would take them so long. I would also think that they arent even really trying. Now I know that if I do help someone they probably really are trying and just need a lot of help. ● What drug (topic) do you wish you could have learned more about this semester? ○ I think what I wish we learned more about was how to help people with addictions more. What are the best methods? How do you help someone off an addiction? I know for example if you addicted to herion its not like you can stop cold turkey it takes time. It would be intersting to see the best way to help someone in this way in more depth.
