Community Service – A voluntary job that is performed either by an individual or a group of people for the benefit of the community meeting their actual needs.

Apple invested in a solar farm in California in order for the company to power all its operations with renewable energy. Apple also committed to getting 100 percent of its paper packaging from sustainable sources to protect the world’s remaining virgin forests. Toyota is famous for introducing the Prius, the world’s first mass-market hybrid vehicle. Prius is one of the most fuel-efficient car available in the market. It has also been ranked as the third least carbon-emitting vehicle in United Kingdom. Brooks has joined the race to go green by introducing a biodegradable running shoe. The quality of the shoes is good as any other mass-market shoe. The shoes only start to decompose when they are stored in an enclosed landfill. It takes only up to 20 years for the shoes to biodegrade compared to the 1,000-year period of a pair of normal running shoes. Tesco offers savings to shoppers who bring their own shopping bags to their stores. Most of the Tesco outlets are powered by renewable energy. Their other sustainability practices include high-recycling and using biodiesel truck for delivery.

The framework supports the new rules incorporated in Bursa Malaysia Listing Requirements that requires reporting of CSR activities by public-listed companies in their annual report under Sustainability Report. (To ensure that business strategies take into consideration the stakeholders’ well-being) Note: In the Sustainability report, companies are required to provide statements on the companies' Economic, Environment and Social risk opportunities. Bursa Malaysia has given a time frame for companies to shift into Sustainability reporting which will end on 31 December 2018. Therefore, when looking through a company's annual report you may still come across companies that are reporting under ‘CSR Activities’. YTL Corporation Berhad – Empowering Communities, Saving the Environment Genting According to a report by UNICEF Malaysia on Corporate Social Responsibility Policies in Malaysia (2012), the Malaysian Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA), revealed multiple reporting weaknesses including companies being too focused on philanthropic activities such as community investment projects or environmental impact reduction. In CSR practices what is more important would be:  
