My capital city: LIMA By: Luis Máximo Acosta Castro

Lima has a population of about 9 700 000. It lies on the river Rimac, Where the Incas used, it is known as “El rio hablador” because it makes noise when carrying stones. From about 1535 until the viceroyalty, Lima was the oldest city in America, now there are many cities which are newer. Lima is famous for many things. Tourist come from all over the world to visit its historic buildings, such as the government palace known as “Casa de Pizarro”, Where the president lives, where you can see a lot of paint of republican history paintings. They also come visit its theatres, its museums, and its many shops, such “Real plaza centro cívico”, where you can buy anything. And of course they want to stroll in the main square. Like many big cities, London has problems with traffic and pollution. Over 46,000 people a day use the electric train. People who want to drive into the city pay the congestion charge, which costs nothing, but there are still too many cars on the streets. The air isn’t clean, but it is cleaner than it was 20 years ago. For me, the best thing about Lima is the parks. There are a lot of in the city centre. But my girlfriend favourite place is the mall, which is the biggest mall in the city....
