Optional Requirements Clinical Practicum Requirements: This is a clinical course and students must be compliant with all requirements prior to beginning any clinical experience. If a student is not current in their immunizations required by the University, College of Nursing, and potential clinical agency, or is not current with HIPPA and Safety training or tests, or do not have a current healthcare provider CPR training one week prior to the first day of class, they will be administratively withdrawn from the course and not permitted in the clinical practice setting. Therefore, they will not be able to complete the clinical portion of this class. Additionally, should any one of these components expire during the semester it is the student’s responsibility to comply. Failing to do so prior to the expiration will place the student at risk for not completing the clinical requirements for this course. COVID19 Requirements: Prior to coming to campus and/or attending clinical, all students are required to self-screen daily BEFORE coming to any TWU campus or going to clinical. This is in accordance with the Governor’s reopening guidelines. How To Self-Screen Prior to coming to campus or clinical each day, assess yourself for any of the following signs or symptoms of possible COVID-19: • Feeling feverish or temperature greater than 100℉ • Chills or repeated shaking with chills • Unexplained new or worsening cough • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing

Unexplained muscle aches Unexplained sore throat Unexplained nausea or vomiting Unexplained congestion or runny nose Unexplained fatigue New loss of taste or smell Unexplained headache Diarrhea Close contact with anyone having COVID-19 If you answered “yes” to any of the above questions, STOP! Do not come to campus or to clinical. For more details, download the COVID-19 Self-Screening Form • • • • • • • • • •

If you think you are sick, or were exposed to someone who was, you must report it. Students are required to report all suspected and confirmed cases of COVID-19, as well as close, prolonged exposure to other individuals who may have COVID-19, using a confidential online form. Please only complete this form if you are ill or exposed to COVID-19. See the TWU Coronavirus website for updated information: https://twu.edu/coronavirus/ Medication Calculation Exam Requirement: Each semester of the undergraduate nursing program will have a required medication calculation exam. This exam must be passed before the student will be allowed to attend in any clinical course that requires medication administration.

Policy Statements Face Coverings: Because we are a “Campus with a Heart,” we require wearing a face covering over the nose and mouth in public spaces such as hallways, classrooms, instructional areas, and other common areas to protect fellow students, staff and faculty members. In classrooms, faculty have the right to deny a student entry into the room if the student is not wearing a face covering or to ask the student to leave if she/he removes it during class. Exceptions will be made only if students have an approved and documented disability accommodation. Students needing accommodations should contact the ...
