NURSING DIAGNOSIS Ineffective sexual patterns related to discomforts caused by itchiness in the perineum as evidenced by presence of Pediculosis Pubis (Perineal Crabs/Pubic Lice) in the pubic hair
PLANNING SHORT TERM GOALS After 4 hours of nursing interventions, the client will be able to: 1. Acknowledge strategies to decrease the itchiness in the perineum 2.Verbalize knowledge and understanding of sexual limitations, difficulties and changes that have occurred LONG TERM GOALS After 1 month of nursing interventions, the client will be able to:
INTERVENTION INDEPENDENT 1.Discuss methods and alternatives to boost enjoyment during sexual activity
1.To identify what method or other alternatives are suited or appropriate for both the patient and the SO to use during intercourse
2.Instruct the patient to use warm water and a gentle cleanser to wash the genital area
2.Decreases the chance of having infection. It also relaxes the muscles around the genital area.
3.Instruct the patient to avoid using scented soaps, lotions and bubble baths as well as vaginal sprays and douches

EVALUATION After 1 month of nursing interventions, the goal was MET evidenced by: Verbalization of both the patient and her SO about their satisfaction with sexual function. Also, the client acquired knowledge and understanding of sexual limitations, difficulties and changes that have occurred and lastly, the client verbalized comfort and reduced itchiness of her perineum.
