This is Being given for prophylactic reasons. Educate the patient about Proper hand washing and to not touch the surgical site Priority 3: Risk for DVT M: Enoxaparin 30 mg subq every 12 hours I: TED hose and sequential compression device boots, PT as tolerated, Ambulation as tolerated, fluids, keep legs raised as tolerated C: PT, PCT, physician for blood thinners if necessary E: Purpose for TED hose, elevate your legs to decrease swelling and pain As tolerated, move your legs in bed as tolerated, tell nurse if you experience Calf pain, your calf becomes reddened, or inflamed.
