Name: Anita Noah Updates in Information System TTh 2:30-4pm Information Systems Assignment Since we live in a world where everything revolves around technology and a rapid growth of information system, we all have experienced interacting with Information system. According to Wikipedia, “an information system (IS) is a formal sociotechnical, organizational system designed to collect, process, and store and distribute information”. Based on the lecture given, there are four components of Information System. They are hardware, software, data, people and process. The first three fall under the category of technology. The other two are roles. The two components which are people and process are really what separate the idea of information systems from more technical field. As an Accounting Information system student, I pretty much interact with various information system every day. These are the list of different information systems I usually encountered. Technologies Under the technology, I usually used my phone every day. I use phone and laptop to navigate different application like Facebook, Integra, Messenger, YouTube, whatSapp, MS teams, Zoom etc. I use messenger, Instagram and whatsapp to chat and call my friends and families. I use face book to see the latest news and happenings around the world. I also use MS teams and Zoom to attend online classes and meetings. I also use Google and chrome to do my research. I use YouTube to watch movies. This whole navigation system represent Information system. The phone and the laptop is the hardware. The different application is the software People People in Information System is also known as users. Since I use different component of Information system, I am part of the people. Also the faculty and staffs of AUP which I interact with them every day. They use computer and other machines. Process. Process is a series of steps to achieve a desired outcome. As a student, these are the processes I have conducted in my everyday life. Using ATM, reading my emails, submitting my assignments in Istudy, attending to classes in MS teams. These are the processes that I have go through to achieve my goals at the end of the day. Biblical connection I use the bible application in my phone every day. It is related to Information system because the application is part of the soft copy and my phone is the hard copy....
