Trait Theory Short Answer Worksheet Using this web site (https://www.outofservice.com/bigfive/) please complete the questions in order to get your Big 5 personality profile. 1. List your percentile scores as they appear on the site: Open-Mindedness: Conscientiousness: Extraversion: Agreeableness: Negative Emotionality:

77% 93% 88% 74% 44%

2. The site producing the scores provides a descriptor for each score. What was a sentence that particularly stood out to you and why? The sentence that stood out to me was “you are very well-organized, and can be relied upon”, this stood out because it does describe me and I feel everyone in my life relies upon me. Comparing my results from https://my-personalitytest.com/results/5380883813168047790/true-colours and my results from https://www.outofservice.com/bigfive/ were the same in both personality tests taken. On both test it said I was a dependable person who can also be optimistic. 3. Utilizing at least one peer-reviewed resource, write a paragraph explaining the benefit of using personality testing in order to determine whether an individual should be employed in a specific job. Personality test helped pick out an employer that best fit the employer (Bergur, 2019). In an Australian study (2012) they found that nurses showed a different personality then the public. Personality test help employers understand who they are hiring and why it is important to understand if they understand the job. (Burger, 2019; Kennady, 2014).

4. Utilizing at least one peer-reviewed resource, write a paragraph explaining the limitations of using personality testing in order to determine whether an individual should be employed in a specific job. The limitations using personality testing in the work force depends on the setting where the assessment is given. Emotional states when taking any assessment can conflict with the results of that test thus the setting is important whenever giving a test. We must be mindful that the emotional state of the person taking the test can be affected by the surroundings (Burger, 2019, Kennady, 2012). Thus, putting all weight on a personality test for employment or termination is not a good assessment alone, there needs to be more than just a personality test (Burger, 2019). According to American Psychology Association APA, all information from assessments should remain confidential and nobody should read or would cause (APA, 2010).

5. Imagine a situation where a person suddenly had access to the test results of a boyfriend/girlfriend. Explain why this person may have a strong desire to review the results of their significant other. What social and ethical problems could arise from seeing their results? No citations for this question nor question 6. When it comes to someone’s significant other knowing their personality would help the other know where they might bunk heads. Having the chance to know what your significant other is like mental will help know if the relationship will work in the long ruin. The spouse could have characteristics that the other doesn’t like and could then cause issues in the relationship.

6. Should we know the personality profiles of our community leaders? What might the public gain or lose from having those profiles? I think the people who run our community should give some access to their personalities profiles so that people know who is leading us and whose hands our life are in. Having access to them the public can gain the characteristic the people leading us have. The negative about having access is it could hurt those who want to be in charge by people knowing the bad characteristics about

them causing people to know support them. It could also scare we the people who are supposed to truth them when they have narcissistic characterizes.
