“Never Settle”. (“OnePlus”, n.d. History para. 1). is the distinctive slogan for which the mobile phone company OnePlus+ is known for and it is evident in all their product offerings. The Company was established in 2013 with an idea to create higher quality products with focus towards making the cost as low possible. (“OnePlus”, n.d., history line. 4).

Identification of the potential for such market segment and coupling it with getting the right resources and establishing OnePlus+ was many of the successful steps taken by the Entrepreneurs Pete Lau & Carl Pei. The risk they ran was having no manufacturing plant and the approach was to utilize available market options with which they innovatively introduced the handset of such specification, performance, design and pricing. (“Pete Lau”, n.d., para 3).

The identification of the opportunity of a segment who are willing to pay and the benefit of offering the best of everything with a unique operating system made the venture to see success by offering notable value to users of mobile handsets. This is well echoed by the published revenue number of 2017 standing at USD 1.4 billion. (GSMArena, 2018, para. 01).

The introduction of the product had aspects of Product and a Position innovation adopted by OnePlus+. (Carrillo, 2020, slide # 20) The success was primarily led by offering a set of Population with handset with Zero Marketing cost which was via referral/Invitation only strategy which is a complete change in the process through which a product is introduced to user group of handset(s) in 2013. (Snapdragon, 2014, para. 6). The offering was unique due to Product specifications being as good of other flagship models in the market but pricing being almost fifty percent. (“Pete Lau”, n.d., para 5).

OnePlus+ Both the Entrepreneurs who founded OnePlus+ have been very driven to make the best technology available to a greater population at a price unbeatable by many. They have demonstrated the use of Innovative ways on a repeat basis like that of Invitation/Smash the Past/Ladies First. (“OnePlus”, n.d., Advertising and marketing). The value of repeating the trick to bring in new offering has been the mantra and the very recent being the introduction of a fluid display which is taking OnePlus+ forward. (Pete, 2013, para. 01).

OnePlus+ has brought about a radical change by creating communities from where the demands are generated to which the company responds via launching of features catering to the needs. Such a strong platform to hear from the market and shape the future remains unique. Innovation to OnePlus+ is a continuous process and the uniqueness is their culture to work hand-in-hand with the user’s. Given the changing landscape of user’s I firmly believe OnePlus+ shall be more successful with new innovations to both existing 1,325,057 users form 183 countries around the world and new. (OnePlus, 2017, Community).
