Analysis of the Industry

Today, the food industry is a complex global enterprise of diverse businesses that supply most of the food consumed by the world population (New World Ency, 2017). The key goals of this industry are selling high-quality foods with excellent customer service. Foremost to offer fairly priced food options to target and attract customers with fast-changing tastes. Customers are paramount to the food industry, and selling bad food could potentially destroy a business. Happy customers make it easy for food industry leaders to stay at the TOP. In addition, leaders of this industry understand customer satisfaction influences customer partnership to build long term relationships. Food marketing proves to be equally important and valuable for business expansion. The food industry leaders continuously focus on quality food and service to keep repeat customers coming back. Therefore, because it is essential, market the best quality foods and with exceptional customer service. The food industry from top to bottom seems to have heeded the call to sustainability and has a steadily glowing pyre of purpose embers deep at its core. (Dobrow, 2017). Essential Functional Areas of the Food Industry Manufacturer Quality and safety standards are extremely important to a food industry manufacturer, the reason primary goals are timely delivery of high-quality food with exceptional customer service. The organization works in a collaborative effort with the support of functional areas essential to the contribution of the overall organizational structure and continued organizational success. The three crucial functional areas that most support an organization structure are as follows:

Human Resources (HR): Human resource (HR) essential functions can result in an increase in effectiveness,

efficiency, and profits for the business (BC Cook Articulate Com, 2015). Since the food industry primary goal is "high quality", HR helps the business develop clear and detailed job descriptions to attract skilled quality professionals to perform critical tasks. There are a number of demands that remain consistent in the food industry such as cutting costs, bringing products to market quickly, standing out in increasingly competitive markets and staying compliant with many regulations (agileChille, 2017). The role of HR is to ensure employees understand and comply with regulatory requirements. HR reinforces quality and safety standards by ensuring employees are properly trained and oriented on Occupational Health and Safety (OHS). This includes the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations that govern most of the business operations. Highly educated HR recruiters have an advantage with the ability to assess business needs to select Quality Engineers, Food Production, Quality Assurance Supervisors, Food Scientist or Technologists, Food Batchmakers and Assembly Line Workers for competitive wages. A wellcompensated and engaging culture will make employees more likely to stay in their jobs long term (Boitnott, 2018). Through countless efforts to ensure regulatory compliance, adherence to employment laws, employee training, labor cost reduction, employee retention, and employee compensation and benefits, HR effectively manage a complex and diverse workforce. 

Marketing and branding: Marketing is a product or service introduction to connect and build trust with a targeted

audience. The marketing sectors are customer service, advertising, direct marketing, public relations, sales promotion, personal selling, events & sponsorship, packaging, interactive internet marketing. The marketing strategy should tell a business how it fits in the marketplace and

without one a business is sure to fail. Marketing can be a way to get customers excited about the products. Marketing techniques help a food industry business promote products or services by communicating with customers through multiple platforms such as television, magazines, word of mouth, direct mail, newspapers, and radio. Advertising allows businesses in the food industry to make a name for themselves, alerting consumers to the availability of new options in the marketplace (Ingram, 2017). Furthermore, marketing boosts the products and bring awareness to the brand name. With frequent changes in the market, a business moves quickly to get the word out. Marketing management focus is customer experience. The customer experience is how a customer perceives the branding and as a result, timeless connection with the brand name occurs. Through sales or customer service, marketing impact customer experience. The right branding strategy can move a business right to the top. Consistently, marketing the product a marketing team can elevate the business through a commitment to quality, community, and communication. Effective marketing and branding keep customers coming back. 

Production and Operations Production and Operations is the central core of any business today. Strategic planning

plays a major role in business production and operations. The management team identify and test, and evaluate processes to manufacture high-quality products to meet sales goals. Likewise, effective business technology ensures optimize production to meet sales goals. In addition, wellmaintained equipment helps to meet customer demands without delays. With being able to keep up with customer demands customers get a good customer experience. To manufacture high-quality products operations and production collaborate with the quality team. Quality initiatives are a group effort in the whole organization. Improving food plant operations and

production processes ensure food and customer safety. Manufacturing top-notch products keep customers happy and keep customers coming back. Marketing communicates the company's mission and vision to customers through marketing methods, in turn, creates long term customer partnerships. Operations and Production manufacturing concepts and requirements meet sales goals, customer demands, including an efficient plant layout for optimal workflow, production process lines, and layout, and efficient material handling and distribution (Petoskey, 2018). The Organization Structure for the Selected Functional Areas Food industry manufacturers follow a distinct hierarchical organization structure. In this structure, functional areas are broken down by directors who report to senior management level executives. When companies use a functional organizational structure, people with similar knowledge and skills are grouped together. This makes it possible for employees to become specialists in their field. Specialization leads to operational efficiencies and enhances productivity levels (Davoren, 2019). Most organizations bring functional areas together to meet organizational goals. These functional areas bring a different perspective and ideas to close gaps in gray areas to solve complex problems. The focus is usually on products or services, this is done to increase company performance across different management levels by support and direction. Today's leaders in the business use cross-functional teams to advance projects, in turn, grow the business. While the three selected functional areas are unique in the roles and functions, they are equally valuable and crucial to the overall organizational success.

ORGANIZATIONAL STRUCTURE AND GOALS

Conclusion

Organization structure link leaders and workers together working towards shared goals moving in the same direction. Through clear communication across functional areas, clearly understood roles and functions an organization can accomplish organizational goals. The functional organization structure, HR will help identify hiring needs, recruit, and train employees to exceed customer expectations, marketing and branding will help communicate the company's vision to customers and build trust with the brand name, production and operations will help by timely delivery of high-quality products to meet customer demands in return exceed targeted sales. Although these functional areas may be different, they share a common goal to provide high-quality products with exceptional customer experience. The development of a solid organizational structure guarantee more sales, customer partnerships, and through word of mouth keep customers coming back.
