Peculiar Benefits This article is about privilege and how we and when I say we most of America and the world can take our privilege for granted. Not only for granted but I think also what the author was trying to explain is that we underestimate it as well if that makes sense. The author states in the beginning how her family used to take trips to Haiti and how it would open her eyes about how lucky she is and how different the world is there. It also starts talking about how even though she is a woman and a colored woman as well she is very privileged with everything she has and everything she has received. She talks about how a lot of people fight with each other about who has more privilege and who doesn’t. She also goes into on how a lot of white man always want to make excuses for their privilege like they don’t want to accept how they have it and how they have so much of it. Towards the end she starts to state how we all have to start realizing our privilege and accepting it and we need to start doing better....
