Light itself is a jet of particles that are very small and light in the form of a straight line in all directions at a very large speed and when these particles hit the eye, we will get the impression of seeing the light source (Sir Isaac Newton:1672). Lighting as part of the physical environment can affect the performance of employees. The better the lighting and intensity in an office, the more comfortable the employee will be at work. Comfort at work can also increase employee's productivity. The problems that will be examined in this journal is how much lighting is important for employee performance and how to regulate lighting and its intensity in the office room. Keywords: Lighting and Employee Performance. ABSTRAK Intensitas cahaya adalah salah satu faktor yang mempengaruhi budaya kantor. Cahaya sendiri merupakan pancaran-pancaran partikel yang sangat kecil dan ringan berupa garis lurus ke segala arah dengan kecepatan yang sangat besar dan bila partikel-partikel ini mengenai mata, kita akan mendapatkan kesan melihat sumber cahaya itu (Sir Isaac Newton:1672). Pencahayaan sebagai bagian dari lingkungan fisik dapat mempengaruhi kinerja dari pegawai. Semakin baik tata cahaya dan intensitasnya di dalam sebuah kantor, maka pegawai akan semakin nyaman untuk bekerja. Kenyamanan dalam bekerja juga dapat meningkatkan produktivitas pegawai. Permasalahan yang akan dikaji dalam jurnal ini yaitu seberapa besar pengaruh cahaya terhadap kinerja pegawai bagaimana mengatur tata cahaya dan intensitasnya di dalam ruangan kantor.
