Description

Personal Pitch – Ludshiya Manivannan (20784368) 1. What ideal job/career would satisfy your unique desires and assets? Working alongside our Revenue Operations and Data Team to ensure that marketing is operating at/as close to 100% efficiency as possible. Collaborating with the Growth Team in designing and executing experiments to drive leads and revenue putting together different data sources. Help determine if campaigns are working or not Working with all members of the Growth and Marketing Team and champion/ provide support on projects where needed. Specific: What do you want to accomplish? Measurable: How can you measure progress to know if you have met your goal?

Achievable/Attainable: Do you have the skills required to achieve this goal? If not, what would it take to attain them? Relevant: Do you have the ability to make this goal happen? Is it aligned with your overall objectives?

Time-bound: What is the deadline? Is it realistic?

I want to further enhance my analytic skills and my project management abilities with many projects simultaneously. I can measure the progress of my accomplishments by keeping a log of my comfortabilities with managing the projects. In the log, I can write down the parts of the work I was confident in and the ones I wasn’t confident in. At the end of my work term, I can flip back and see the things I have learnt in the past 4 months. I believe that I have the skills to achieve this goal because I have prior project management experience. Furthermore, I am an individual that is always keen on learning and thus I will always try to improve my project management techniques. I think that I do have the ability to make this goal happen because I always am striving to better myself and improve my intangible assets. This will translate into bettering my skills that I use at work; such as managing projects better and creating efficient marketing material. The deadline of this goal would be the end of my co-op placement, in April 2020, starting in January of 2020. This is realistic because it provides enough time to see change, but it is not too long that I forget or lose sight of the goal that I am trying to accomplish, something that could happen if the deadline is too far away.

2. What are your qualifications Refined interpersonal skills: In all of my past work and volunteer experiences, I have worked with and had to interact with internal and external relations to ensure projects maintained on time. All of which have helped me further develop my interpersonal skills such as communication, listening and adaptability. These skills would be useful when interacting with the people involved in the projects and creating marketing material that is relevant to the end user. Time Management: Through my past work and volunteer experience, I have had to meet multiple deadlines with multiple different projects. This helped me enhance my time

management skills and time allocation ability. These skills would be useful when planning out projects and coordinating them between internal and external stakeholders. Furthermore, when planning the deployment of marketing materials, proper time management is key to ensure the most interaction with the material. 3. How might you prepare for a networking event? An upcoming networking event that interests me would be the Job Fair that is held in the winter at the University of Waterloo. This event interests me because of the fact that the employers in attendance must have current job openings at the organization and could potentially hire their desired employees in the coming months. I would prepare a little discourse that I would use when I approach potential employers at this networking event. In this script I would say “Hi, my name’s Lucky Manivannan and I am a 2A student in Science and Business at the University of Waterloo. I am extremely interested in your organization and there mission and vision. Could you tell me more about some recent programs/projects that you guys are currently working on?” From there, I would hope that that question would snowball into a conversation and that my interest and question asking would leave a good lasting impression on the employer or representative of that organization for when they are hiring within the organization....
