Politics of Location Location: idea of identity, where/who you are, how your placement affects you o Adrienne Rich’s identity: white Jewish feminist woman growing up in America (had she been somewhere else she might have been killed) o Different problems based on location o Different social movements & political struggles o We vs. I: Unity w/in movements, must understand movement as it is o Feminist theory came from civil rights movement, black revolutionaries, so feminism cannot just be seen as a white movement o Criticism of white feminist theory: problematic because it assumes experiences of other women.
