Human Culture and Expression Over Time I think Pride and Prejudice is a classic for all ages. I have seen all of these with my mom more times then I could ever count. I think they are all truly representative of the times they were filmed in. I think the 1995 version shows more about romance and finding true love. The 2005 version shows more of a strong-willed Mrs. Bennett. She is more outspoken and lets Mr. Darcy know more on her mind. The 2005 version of Pride and Prejudice has always been my favorite. I was never a big fan of Bridget Jones Diary I always felt that is taking the storyline of pride and prejudice but never truly did it justice. I think it was more real-world life and experiences but not the best storyline of a romance movie. I just thought you could never replace a classic like Pride and Prejudice Each move reflects the period they were each in very well. From the clothing to the accents to the props. Even the way the actors' acts are a great representation of the periods. Pride and Prejudice both follow the culture of really not getting to choose who you love. Trying to find a man with wealth and not much “getting to know them” before choosing marriage. Bridgett Jones's diary has a more “modern” look of that money might not be everything. It also shows

more of how we live our lives, not with working and everyday lives. Bridgett Jones's diary is relatable for the society we currently live in. The biggest question I would like to research more is, Are we using the Great Wave in its natural beauty? I want to know if with each version are we losing its true meaning. Does it have different meanings behind it after it is being altered? Would this something that would be frowned on by having it on clothing and pillows. Are we disrespecting its true meaning or are we making people more aware of its beauty and meaning?...
