Indications o Cardiac Arrest o Croup (moderate to severe) o Severe allergic reaction or anaphylaxis o Severe bronchospasm or silent chest o Bradycardia with poor perfusion – CCP o Shock unresponsive to adequate fluid resuscitation (excl anaphylactic, obstructive or haemorrhagic) – CCP Contraindications o Nil Precautions o Hypertension o Hypovolemic shock o Concurrent MAOI therapy o Quetiapine toxicity Side Effects o Tremors o Anxiety o Tachyarrhythmia/ Palpitations o Pupil Dilation o Hypertension Adult Doses: o Cardiac Arrest IV: 1mg, every 3-5 min, no max dose o Severe allergic reaction: IM: 500microg, every 5 min, no max dose NEB: 5mg single dose only (refractory to 3 x IM) o Severe bronchospasm/ Silent Chest: IM: 500microg, every 5 min, no max dose Paediatric Doses: o Cardiac Arrest: >10kg (=>1 year) 10microg/kg, repeat 305 min, no max dose 6 years IM: 300microg, repeat 5 min, no max NEB: 5mg, single dose only 1-5 years IM: 150microg, repeat 5 min, no max NEB: 5mg, single dose only 6months – 1 year IM: 100microg, repeat 5min, no max NEB: 5mg, single dose only 6 years IM: 300microg, repeat 5 min, no max 1-5 years IM: 150microg, repeat 5 min, no max 6months – 1 year IM: 100microg, repeat 5min, no max 10-15kg o 1mL >15kg o 1.5mL May be repeated once for child resistant to medications Total max = 0.6mg/kg (12mg)
