ACKNOWLEDGEMENT
First and foremost, praises and thanks to Allah for his showers of blessings throughout our research task to complete the research successfully.
We would like to express our special thanks of gratitude to our lecturer Madam Atiqah Hassan who give us the golden opportunity to do this assignment and for the guidance, encouragement in finishing this assignment and also for teaching us in this course.
Last but not least, we are really grateful because we managed to complete our QMT181 assignment task within the time given by our lecturer Madam Atiqah Hassan. The completion of this assignment could not have been accomplished without the effort and co-operation from our group members, Nurul Aishah, Nurul Nadhrah, Siti Noratikah and Wan Nur Zulaikha. This group assignment that had been assigned have gave us a tremendous impact toward ourselves. The impact was very beneficial for us in term of enhancing our knowledge in the deep of accounts and how to work with each other to perform all the best of four of us.

1.0 INTRODUCTION
1.1 Background of Study
We are leading a research about student’s preferences in using the great devices during online distance learning. Every student has their own types of devices that they used such their platform to communicate. Many types of devices such as laptop, ipad, smart phone and others. The study investigates student’s preference about types of devices that they choose in education. Some gender made different an appearance in the use of devices in their studies. Coordinating the survey among University students, majority of them use laptop and smart phone frequently to arranging meetings with their classmates mutually at the same time informed about courses. They evaluate as most important the access to exam results, exam’s timetable and previous exam. However, there must be a reason why the mostly devices are chosen by student’s terms by their preferences of what benefits from using that devices. There are three choices of devices that we make to know which is mostly used by students and why it was chosen. We have decided to conduct this research to investigate reasons to answer of their preferences about devices that they choose during online distance learning.
1.2 Objective Of Study To know what is the student’s preferences in using the great devices during online distancing learning.
2.0 METHODOLOGY
2.1 DESCRIPTION OF DATA
POPULATION Population is a complete group of members from which the data will be collected. It may refer to an entire group of people, objects, measurement and many more. A population also may be said to be an aggregate observation of subjects grouped together with a common element. The population we wish to study is all students in UiTM Segamat
SAMPLE Sample is a portion from population. A sample refers to a smaller version of a bigger group or subset of a larger population. The sample of our study is 50 students in UiTM Segamat that are studying during online distance learning (ODL) were randomly selected as respondents for the case study. Most of the respondents are female around 18 – 20 years old.
SAMPLING TECHNIQUE Sampling technique is the sampling processes that can be done by selecting a sample that can be represent the population as accurate as possible. There are two type of sampling technique which is the probability sampling technique and nonprobability sampling technique. In this research, we used simple random sampling. The population is homogeneous in nature which is from UITM students. This technique is which a sample is drawn randomly from a sampling frame so that each number of people with their own preferences with their devices has the same chance of being selected as a sample. One of the method of selecting random sample is lottery method. Suppose 50 students from UITM Segamat from 71 students UITM Segamat who give their preferences about their devices during online distancing learning are selected as sample.
Simple Random Sampling
Lottery Method Step 1 : Have a list of 71 student’s matrix card number. Step 2 : Write each of the matrix card number on a separate piece of paper. Step 3 : Place all 71 matrix card number of student in a box and mix them. Step 4 : Draw one student’s matrix card number randomly from the box and repeat this experiment for 49 more times until a sample of 50 students is selected.
DATA COLLECTION METHOD Data collection is defined as the procedure of collecting, measuring and analysing accurate insights for research using standard validated techniques. There are four methods used to collect data for statistics analysis which are interview, direct observation, questionnaire and internet or video recording. The data collection method used in this survey is questionnaire. The questionnaire is an online form generated using Google Forms and was distributed among students in WhatsApp group. There are 13 question we made. We choose this technique because the respondents have enough time to think properly to answer for every question.
THE DESCRIPTION ON THE VARIABLES A variable is a particular characteristic of the object being studied. It may represent a person, place, object or position. There are two types of variable which are qualitative variables and quantitative variables. Qualitative variables are data that cannot be expressed by number in other word non numerical types. Meanwhile quantitative variables are data that measured on numerical scales or expressed by number. The collected data are divided into four scale of measurement which are nominal, ordinal, interval and ratio. Nominal scale is a data may only be classified into categories and the categories have no natural order. Ordinal scale is data that can be categorised but does not recognize the differences in the data scale. Next, interval is a numerical data where both the order of the variables and the difference between these variables are identified. Ratio is a quantitative scale in nature and most precise and powerful of scales.
The description on the variables for this study are given as follow: Variable Gender of student of UiTM Segamat.

2.2 METHOD OF ANALYSIS
MEAN Mean is commonly known as the average of the data values. For group data, each class interval is represented by the mid-point of the interval X. Below is the formula of mean for grouped data:
MEDIAN Median is a value that lies in the centre of the data. To find the median for grouped data, create a column for the cumulative frequency and determine the position of median in the distribution. There is the formula of median:
MODE Mode is the value that is repeated most often in the data set. The formula of mode are follows:
STANDARD DEVIATION Standard deviation is the square root of the sample variance. Both variance and standard deviation provide the same information which are one can always be obtained from the other. In other words, the process of computing a standard deviation always involves computing a variance and always expressed in the same units as the raw data. The following is the formula of the standard deviation:

Based on the horizontal bar chart above, it is about the number of students in UITM Segamat who have responded to our google form about survey in student preference in using the great devices during online distance learning (ODL). It can be seen that the amount of female students in UITM Segamat who have responded our google form are more than the male students which is 34 for the females and 16 for the males. In conclusion, most of the UITM Segamat students who have responded the google form for the student preference in using the great devices during online distance learning (ODL) are female.
