Description

Since I have never used Qualtrics for surveys, I watched a simple YouTube tutorial to understand the program’s functions. I came to realize Qualtrics is extremely simple to use and it is very useful for preparing surveys. One tool I think is extremely useful for survey creators is the automatic choices feature. Although I did not have to use this feature since this survey is only five questions, this feature saves time because it inputs survey answers based on the text of any question. For instance, if a question asks about gender, Qualtrics will recognize this and it will immediately input male and female into the answer choices. This feature will especially be helpful when my team lists our demographic information in our survey since the questions are straightforward. Additionally, I found the “Change Question Type” tool to be very useful, and it helped me to learn about different question types for surveys. Using this function provides several different options for any particular survey question type, and virtually any type of question can be created without difficulty. Under the question type tool on the sidebar, there are options to help format a survey in any desired way. I found this to be useful for making the survey look professional by positioning questions and answers adequately. I found the preview tool to be useful because it allows users to view and test a survey exactly how respondents will use it. I was able to identify a couple of errors in my initial survey by using the preview tool because it was not as easy to detect errors while in the editing mode. Once a survey has been previewed and is ready to publish, Qualtrics provides a URL for the survey which can be used to share the survey with anyone. Once respondents take a survey, all the data is stored in Qualtrics, making it simple to identify responses for subsequent data analysis. Ultimately, I find Qualtrics to be a very simple tool for effectively creating surveys. Without Qualtrics, it would likely be far more difficult to effectively create/publish a survey, and gather data from respondents.
