Ashleigh Henry 8.04 Writing About Relevance Argue whether comedic devices work to develop the plot in The Taming of the Shrew.

The Taming of the Shrew is not only a well known teaching opportunity, but the comedic devices in each act help the plot and the comedy in The Taming of the Shrew. Shakespeare used different comedic devices in order to keep the audience engaged and focused on the story line. By using these he kept the audience on the edge of their chair trying to figure out what Pertuchio was going to do in order to get Kate to be tamed. Throughout The Taming of the Shrew the plot begins developing with events, quick witted language, family events, and a lot of plot twists. All the comedic devices that were used were able to create the story about a woman who is married and has no choice in the events or what happens to her in this marriage. Shakesphere takes his characters and makes a real life depiction in his plays. Therefore all the characters he writes are in some way relatable to the audience. Making it a smoother read for those who like to feel an attachment to the characters. Shakespeare takes all of those comedic devices and uses them in a way that allows growth, comedy, and much more throughout the story. Without these comedic devices the story would be dull and stubborn. The way Shakespeare used his wording and devices he was able to make this story plot more developed. Without devices the plot would have suffered tremendously and been very undeveloped. Rather than fighting to make it one of his most popular and comedic stories he has written. The way Shakespeare used many devices throughout his acts to bring his moments from paper to real life throughout reading the pages he wrote was a magnificent effort in the use of plot development. Comedic devices have been used by thousands of authors to make their writing come to life, Shakespeare was definitely one of the most accomplished when it came to the outcome. He needed to use them in order to develop a plot that ran together and made sense throughout the entire story. Not once did he leave the story dull or unreadable he stood for what he wanted and made it come to life....
