Description

The religion in the Renaissance In this period, the humanism grew so fast that it made the Europeans to question the role of Roman Catholic church. The printing press, a machine that is able to produce books, newspaper,…, evolved and allowed for texts, such as the Bible, a collection of religious texts, to be easily reproduced and widen read by people. As more people learnt to read, write and show their ideas, they began to examine and analyze religion as they knew it. In the 16th century, a German monk called Martin Luther, led the Protestant Reformation – a revolutionary that caused the split of Catholic church.He questioned many of the practices of the churce and whether the aligned with the teaching in the Bible. His actions set in motion enourmous reform within the Church. As a unavoidable result, the Church was divided, and a new form of Christianity (Kitô giáo) was created, named Protestantism(Đạo Tin Lành). After that, the Church responded the Reformation with the Counter-Reformation, started with the Council of Trent(1545 – 1563) and ended at the close of the Thirty Year’s War(1648). The mission of this response was to reach parts of the world that had been colonized as Catholic, and try to undo the Protestiantize during the Reformation....
