I Found the poem "Children" by Carline Kyser to be rather sad. Usually we look at children as pure beings. Children have-not been effected by the dirt in this world. However, here there's a mother upset with her child. I believe that parents should not have such specific expectations for their child. Too many expectations ca often lead to disappointment. I find it very sad that the mother is upset with her child.

I found the poem "Helping My Daughter Move into Her First Apartment "by Sue Ellen Thomspon to have a deeper meaning that it may appear. The poem discusses walking up and down the stairs as a parent helps his/her child move into an apartment. I believe there is a slight metaphor here. The constant walking up and down the stairs can possibly represents the ups and downs of life that are touched on this poem. Just like the parent is walking up and down the stairs, the parent is going through ups and downs emotionally about his/her child moving out....
