This test is designed to assess your ability to perform simple ‘database’ functions. You will be provided with an Access database that has two tables in it, and a question sheet that will ask you to open that database and to update and extend it in various ways. At the end of the test you will save and submit the Access database, as instructed by your workshop Instructor. Specifically you will be asked to demonstrate the following: A –Tables 1. Rename the two tables that are provided 2. Ensure that the data type for each field is correct 3. Check that both tables have a primary key field 4. Change the field sizes 5. Create an input mask 6. Use lookup wizard to create a drop down list box B- Relationships 1. Create a relationship between the two tables 2. Enforce referential integrity C-Reports 1. Create a simple report showing fields from tables 2. Add a title and report footer D-Creating a Form with Sub-Form 1. Create a Form with Sub-form 2. Improve Form appearance 3. BUSINESS COMPUTING 1 - ISYS2109 DATABASE ASSESSMENT 2 – Database Test Held in class during week 11 workshop Duration - 60 minutes - 20% (40 marks)

Instructions for Students 1. This is an individual assessment 2. The assessment time is 60 minutes excluding 5 minutes for reading assessment instruction and rules of assessment and 5 minutes for submitting the completed database to Blackboard submission link. 3. Assessment time starts 15 minutes after your normal class time for the workshop. 4. Only the provided MS Database file can be opened during the assessment session. 5. Absolutely no talking between students, no web browsing, no emailing, no use of USB, or no other files can be accessed during the assessment. You will be awarded a score of zero for this assignment if you don’t follow this assessment rule. 6. Students can only use Microsoft Database help built in the database to lookup information on the operation of the database functions during the assessment. 7. Use Internet Explorer/Google Chrome to submit the Database to Blackboard. Your teacher will show the correct submission area for your class. 8. Submission of the Database file after the instructor has left the class room will NOT be accepted. 9. Failure to attend the assessment without valid reason accepted by the University will be given zero mark. 10.
