Summary of the Article In the research concerning 'Romantic Love and Sexual Desire in Close Relationships' by DR. Rebecca A. Turner and the associated institutions, the investigations on emotions expressed in close relationships have given rise to complementary insights (Clay, 2008). The first insight is that emotions and various ways in which they are manifested relate profoundly. Insignificance, they occur to coordinate relationships' social interactions. Turner presents studies that examine the functions and forms of sexual desire and romantic love in relationships that are regarded to be romantic (Gonzaga et al., 2006). The second insight shows that emotions that are expressed by individuals are responsible for shaping the direction and content of a relationship. For example, expression of brief emotions such as amusement or contempt decides the fate of relationship whether the couple will dissolve or stay together (Howard et al., 2006). In this article, Rebecca has expressed her research, implying that intimate emotions such as sex enhance the intimacy of the partners. However, this research is misinterpreted by DR. Eric Keroack, which DR. Rebecca regards as a pseudoscience. In his Interpretation, Keroack claims that too much sex can make women lose the ability to achieve intimate relationships with their partners. According to Rebecca's article, this claim appears to be false. Strengths of the Article The article acknowledges science research has revealed that cortisol hormone rises when stress is induced psychologically. Furthermore, Turner told that their study examined whether oxytocin blood levels would increase relatively with positive or sad emotions caused by film clips that evoke feelings and interview discussions. Further, the research presented by Rebecca was not only conducted individually but in a collaboration that involved the

University of California, San Francisco, and the CSPP. This study was also adequately funded by mental health institutes. Based on these facts, DR. Rebecca has a more excellent basis of argument compared to DR. Keroack, who presented his claims based on his ideas alongside his co-author because her research had been hypothesized and tested. The co-author to DR. Keroack acknowledged the fact that they had developed conclusions that could never be put forth by any scientist. Weaknesses of the Article Unfortunately, the study in the article seems to encourage teenagers to engage in many sexual relationships, which are an act of immorality that is disregarded in society. Moreover, the item does not reveal the actual findings of the research whose initial study was impressive at the time of conduction, but in the end, particularly in the year 2002, the researchers did not identify changes in the levels of oxytocin that showed relations with the emotions. Strengths of the Claim The article review shows that DR. Rebecca admits that it is easy for a politician to deceive the society with scientific interpretations because it is unlikely for people to refer from the original scientific journals to prove whether the political claims are acceptable. Further, she implies that the allegations by DR. Keroack, can easily convince the society because it appears believable and that's what people, especially teens, heed most rather than facts that have been researched and tested. As a result, it becomes difficult to shift people from what they believe is right. In another case in the 1960s, the article draws back that women in the country were told severally that if they had sex before marriage, no one would be engaged to them and shame would befall them. Therefore, this claim serves as a reminder

of such beliefs which might have contributed a significant influence towards norms that are specific to gender. Also, recognizes that DR. Keroack holds a sensitive government office in the department of health and human services, which puts him in an excellent position to convince the society that his claims are factual and valid. Besides, the review identifies DR. Keroack as a co-author of a paper that claimed sexual activities with many partners alters the chemistry of the brain in ways that affect future relationships. Perhaps, the article appears to support his claims. Weaknesses of the Claim The article review fails to include the opinions of the claimer to defend his ideas, which could help come up with a decisive conclusion. Further, the article review does not inform the readers whether the position held by DR. Keroack allows or limits him to interpret scientific findings or and public policies on human values. Furthermore, the article does not reveal the outcome of the misunderstanding between DR. Turner and DR. Keroack to rate science against ideology. Ideological Interpretation Emotions towards opposite gender are driven by sexism regardless of the origin of an individual. Sexism is complicated because people judge others in terms of their gender depending on their culture, past experiences with the gender in question, beliefs, and feelings. Therefore, it is difficult to determine the real drive of souls in different individuals. In most cases, women are the victims of sexism in families and society as a whole because of the emotions stimulated towards them (Chamberlin, Novotney, Packard, & Price, 2008). This can be associated with the fact that females are soft because of the weak nature of their bodies.

On the other hand, it's logical to point out that men react negatively to people who violate their gender prescriptions than women because men tend to fight against their enemies due to the masculine nature that provokes them to conquer their enemies and not the emotions. Therefore, a man may dissolve relationship because he feels superior to a female and not because the relationship is not romantic.
