Simulasi Aliran Ammonia dengan Menggunakan CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamic) pada Closed House di Unit Lapangan Cikabayan, Bogor Simulation Using CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) of Ammonia Flow Pattern in Closed House at Cikabayan Field Unit, Bogor Farid Fachrudin 1) , Kudang Boro Seminar 2) 1) Mahasiswa Pascasarjana IPB, 2) Dosen Departemen Teknik Mesin dan Biosistem Fakultas Teknologi Pertanian Institut Pertanian Bogor Abstarct As the breeding place for chickens (broilers), a chicken cage should be appropriately designed in order to expect high productivity in meat production. closed house system is used as an alternative for breeding chickens (broilers). The principles of a closed house are to provide sufficient oxygen to the chickens and to immediately remove dangerous gases such as carbon monoxide and ammonia. One of the most important matter on the use of a closed house is how to analyze the flow of these dangerous gases, especially ammonia. Therefore, simulations are needed to determine the flow pattern of ammonia which then can be used as a basis for the design and management of the cage. The objective of this simulation is to analyze the flow pattern of ammonia in a closed house. This simulation is done using the Solidworks 2007 software which is equipped with cosmosfloworks that is used to analyze the flow with the CFD (Computational Fluid Dynamics) program. From the simulation results, it was found that ammonia flow pattern tends to spread evenly, especially in the middle section of the cage. The amount of ammonia decreases with height, meaning that the higher the location, the less amount of ammonia reside. The average amount of ammonia in a simulated closed house is 1.88664 ppm. This shows that the ammonia is being lifted out of the closed house, meaning that the condition in the closed house can be considered safe as a habitat for chickens. Ayam merupakan unggas yang biasa dipelihara orang untuk dimanfaatkan sebagai sumber penghidupannya (Fadilah, 2007). Dalam perkembangannya ayam semakin diminati mengingat tekstur dagingnya yang halus, enak untuk dimakan dan mudah diolah Dalam perkembangannya beternak ayam pedaging mengalami perkembangan teknologi, antara lain dalam bidang pemeliharaan, pemberian pakan, vaksinasi, manajemen SDM, dan desain kandang.
